Congrats on the 900th show, guys. But I’m not surprised that the female CEO couldn’t give a damn about her fellow women in technology until she had a bambino of her own. Hell, the CEO of Yahoo! really said “Fuck Dem Bitches” when she outright banned remote working across the company while providing no daycare for her employees. In Silicon Valley, this is almost unheard of for a company the size of Yahoo! in 2015. Even my rink dink tech firm let’s people work remotely. Nobody but the help desk and receptionists goes to the home office unless clients are showing up.
Marissa Mayer’s reasoning? To summarize, since she could afford a stay at home nanny and Yahoo! built her an own in office daycare for her kids, why can’t these hoes pay a baby sitter and get their ass to work by 7 for those project meetings? Then again, that woman fired a senior VP over the phone.
So, no, I’m not surprised – because we’re bred in the society, particularly in business, to have a patriarchal, almost Randian (The Writer, not the dude in the Senate or his equally nutty father.** ) Worldview where a) women are either brood mares or sexless robots and b) making money comes before your family and your life. Straight up fuck that woman that mistreated working moms and is now trying to be friends because she had a child. Those who lack empathy are the worst people in the world and I will never side with them. It reminds me of the politicians that become in favor of LBTG rights only after one of their kids come out. They are being self serving but we are supposed to give them credit for “evolving,” fuck that. This does not make up for her purposely putting working moms through hell because she didn’t want to be bothered. I hope she is successful with her new business which helps working moms but she will forever be a dirtbag bitch in my book.
