    Hi Guys –

I only planned on watching Black Panther and (As)Guardians movies, but your old reviews got me interested in most of the MCU films. For Dr. Strange you mentioned there was a Beyonce joke. I watched it mostly for the joke. That story helped me understand the capabilities of the time stone more, which improved my enjoyment of the Infinity War films.

Endgame was a masterpiece. All 3 times I saw it, I was having heart palpitations during the final fight like my ass was fighting. I love that the MCU does not follow the comics exactly. I really thought the Avengers might lose, particularly because there is still 1 movie left to tie up this phase of the MCU and Thanos was whooping 3 heroes at once.

How in the hell did they make 2014 Thanos more scary than 2023 Thanos when he didn’t even have any stones yet? I love that he was more realistically crazy than in the books (no imaginary boo egging him on, but just driven by a fucked up ideology like so many real life genocidal world leaders).

Also, shouts out to Captain Marvel and her Suze Orman power lesbian haircut. I really hope in her next movie she’s that little Black girl’s stepmama, whose family refers to Carol as “Monica’s friend” at the cookout.

Thanks for staying up late to do reviews!

    Peace,

    Turq

Great review guys! I enjoyed seeing all of the Marvel characters from every movie in the MCU. I found out that there were a lot of easter eggs that point to future movies as well as the past. For example, I read online that Okoye’s report of an earthquake off the African coast could possibly point to an appearance of Prince Namor in next Black Panther movie. Can you imagine? Namor waging war with Wakanda? I hope Marvel can pull it off. Also, did you notice the vibe between Captain Marvel and Rhodey? Has something been going on in the past five years with those two?

I thought Hemsworth did an amazing job with Thor and the range of heavy emotions he was dealing with. But I really had to push through the fat jokes to see that. I’ve had to deal with nasty comments my whole life, so it hurt to see that on screen and it really took me out of the movie at some points, particularly coming from his mother. I thought the film could have still told a great story without the mean remarks.
That said, I loved this movie. I went to see it in the theater twice. I’m happy I saw it on opening night because the crowd was super hype. Screaming, gasping, crying and laughing along with them was an unforgettable experience. 5/5

One thing I never want to hear about Comic Book Movies, is how mindless they are, due to some inability to understand the material. The pay off in Endgame is so good. I mean, I love these films, but I LOVE THIS MOVIE. For as much as I loved the first two Avenger films, Joss Whedon couldn’t do what the Russo’s & writers Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely pulled off with this & Infinity War. He’d snark it up & wouldn’t have the effective payoff. IW’s ending solidifies Endgame’s…..well, end. Americans hate sad endings but without that sad ending, we wouldn’t get this excellent punctuation with Endgame. Also, for a three-hour superhero film, it’s perfectly paced. There’s hardly any action in the first two hours alone. Lots of exposition, character development, comedy & and so on. Yet, it’s constantly compelling because of the writing, direction & that cast.

I feel like every actor got his or her moment to shine, even if the main story is about the original six’s journey, however dire and triumphant their consequences are. As I said with IW, I’ll say it here, Josh Brolin needs to get an award for this. Oscar, Emmy or whatever. For two movies, he made Thanos the compelling threat that we’ve waited for during these MCU films (I also don’t want to hear how these villains are weak anymore, either. Put that thinkpiece six feet under, please). Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner & even asian appropriating ass Scarlett Johanssen fucking shined here. Scarjo alone nearly made cry more than RDJ’s big moment. Karen Gillian continues to get better & better in these films & Paul Rudd being the important wild card had his moments too.

I would want to spoil it here, despite the title of this show, but people who have yet to see this film, you need to see it for yourselves or else like a key character says in Endgame: “If I tell you, it won’t happen”.

Hello! Thank you for your review! I actually went premium because I really wanted to hear what yall had to say! This movie is great, I’m definitely going to see it again, need it all to sink in. I am totally here for A-Force!!! I was at first kinda miffed with how little Captain Marvel was in this movie, especially with the hype around her own movie, but I think this movie was more a tying up of this first era of the MCU and the orginal movie Avengers, than a showcase of the newer characters. And it really felt full circle that Iron Man was the one to end it and die in the movie.

I’m so excited for the next phase of MCU!!

Only acceptable rating is double infinity. Infinity War got infinity from y’all, so I believe y’all meant to say double infinity for EndGame.

I love y’all. Thank you for all you do.

Oh I forgot to ask. Which format do you guys prefer when it comes to marvel movies or any action movies? (IMAX, real 3D or digital Dolby)? I’ve come to enjoy imax. Thanks

A few more thoughts. You and the Nerd Off crew actually jokingly predicted how Hawkeye lost his family. I kinda chuckled in my head when it happened.

As a fat girl myself, I wasn’t offended by the way they treated Thor’s weight gain. I think the complaints are much ado about nothing. I think people/critics have to find something to complain about or they don’t have anything to write about. I’m a huge MCU stan so perhaps I am biased.

I can’t wait to see it again in IMAX.

Thank you for spoiling. My tickets are for midnight. You guys have been my guide to better understanding of marvel comic movies. I always try and wait for spoiler before I attend the movie. It gives more insight into the storylines.

Beautiful ending to an era. Not as many tears as Infinity War, but a lot of excitement for what happened in the movie, and what is to come. The end credits were beautiful. There are a lot of thoughts, but I trust you’ll hit the high points.

The last thing I’ll say is this: the story started with Iron Man for me, and it was only right that it ended with Iron Man.

Thanks so much for going through this journey with me, TBGWT.

So much goodness. Stayed up late waiting for your SMR. You don’t disappoint. Thank you for the dedication.

    G’Day you 2,

What a movie. They did such a great job of wrapping it all up & having call backs to all parts of the MCU.

Even little things like Thor saying they were gonna have lunch when they were in the Avengers time which I think is a reference to the swarma credit scene when theyre all eating after beating Loki & then T’Challa calling him Clint at the end after Hawkeye introduced himself to him in civil war & he said “I don’t care”.

& it looks like we getting Vol. 3 – Asguardians of the Galaxy.

Thor is my Infinity War/End Game MVP.

    Have a good 1
    Wonga

Hey Wonga, Karen and Rod, I also loved the call backs like when they’re fighting Thanos and you hear Falcon say “Cap, on your left.” Oh, I loved the whole female Avengers squad when Captain Marvel, Okoye, Shuri, the Wasp and Scarlett Witch lined up to start whipping Thanos’ crews ass. There was so much screaming, cheering and clapping during that last fight and the funeral of Iron Man had everyone grouped in together made everyone sigh. Captain America lifting up Thor’s hammer made the entire crowd go bezerk. was the perfect end movie to this series. So much fan service, great action and plot. It felt shorter than 3 hours. My investment into this universe paid off. Thank you for a funny Thor, a cold blooded killer Hawkeye and a mad AF Scarlett Witch.
