Hearing about that principal is no surprise. I have a friend who used to be a vice principal for a charter school in the New York and she said that the principal who was a white woman seemed to take delight on calling the police on the kids for the slightest infraction. Not everyone was meant to be an educator and just because the school isn’t in the south, it doens’t mean that the children aren’t subject to racism.

and that lil pump character is not black. But he quickly blamed the blacks for robbing him. But people give him a pass though. SMH

I have the flu and y’all have tried to kill me several times this episode. When Karen said “stay white woman and die” and Rod cracked up, I had a coughing fit and had to pause the episode. Lululemon pants and arms folded? Whew, I those jokes nearly killed me. I have been so angry at that principal and I so needed that laugh to ease the pressure.

Absolutely loved having Coqui on the show. I have been following her on Twitter since TWIB days and she is brilliant and delightful.

Please find a white people cover to that lil’ pump song for your next white people news segment. Please and thank you.

Thank you for having Coqui on the show. Representation does matter. In my 45 years of life, I’ve only met 3 Black women in a math and science profession. I had a black woman doctor in the ER in my 30s and I was in shock. As an asthmatic, I spent a large amount of time in the ER as a kid and teen and I had never met it seen a black lady MD. I literally stared at her during my entire Albuterol treatment. My daughter’s math teacher is a young black woman. When I met her on parent teacher night, I just nodded like an idiot. This woman was maybe 12-15 years older than my 12 year old. I never knew math teachers could be young, black and dynamic. Now, my daughter is interested in her school’s STEM and drama program. In 5th grade, she thought math and science just were not for her.

wow. That is so interesting. Representation matters on many levels. I’d love to say it’s for the kids but I am a grown woman and it was nice to see a nerdy cute black lady who was a tech genius. On a platform that will be seen not only be our people. That resonated with ME. I am in stem and was brainwashed at an early age that I would be an engineer. Thanks mom! but I always loved numbers math and physics. And in college there were a BUNCH of us. Then when we got jobs it was like…..oh only older men….with less melanin. Great. Teaching is also a form of representation that is highly undervalued.
