As a black woman who majored in history at an HBCU, THANK YOU so much for this episode! Studying the history that we were not taught in public school and viewing current events through a historical lens brings so many things into focus. Thank you for seeking this knowledge and sharing it on this platform.
I can always count on you to give me a different perspective. I appreciate y’all so much !
Loving the longer episodes… also enjoying your commentary on the book about Ida B. Wells; it’s on my reading list. Was curious if you’ve read Frederick Douglas: Prophet of Freedom… I tried the audio version multiple times, but just couldn’t get past the narrator’s voice… for me, his voice was too soothing & monotone for the subject matter… but, it’s made me want to get back to hard copies, specifically for heavier subject matters such as these. I’m interested to read both books & discover the parallels between the two stories.
