I found the chore conversation so interesting because we didn’t do stuff around the house just to be responsible or to keep our house clean; my parents, especially our dad, taught my sister and I how to do odd jobs, repairs, and upkeep because one day WE would have the house. He was teaching us how to maintain our inheritance, which is kind of funny because we have four older brothers who ain’t shit. My sister and I will still go back to the house to help with the yard or maintenance, because we may not live there, but it’s our home.
