Dang, it’s been THREE long years since Onward came out. 2020 is truly a weird year on the time-line. Now if my kid were a listener, she’d fight ya’ll. Luca is a 10/10 for her and I guess that I became a fan after watching it a million times. She only saw Onward once and never revisted it again, did not make it to the end (her mom and I did). Like you correctly pointed out, this movie was for the adults than the kids. Mine considered it boring and this is a kid who can sit through Across the Spiderverse without moving only to dance at the end. So she’s now my measuring stick for how entertaining some movies can be. I enjoyed the movie and wouldn’t mind chilling in the Onward for a day or week. Should be a lot easier to sell freedom there!

I’m about three years removed from watching this, when it premiered on Disney+. It was fine, nothing that screams “Pixar’s byke” or whatever. Good voice acting, per usual, from Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus & Octavia Spencer. I just remember it being just there and not much else.
