Here’s hoping your day and week went well. I am writing about three specific entertainment related things.
First, the second season of Them on Amazon Prime has dropped. We get Anika Noni Rose and the actor who played Jason on True Blood. Here’s hoping more people give this season a legitimate chance, and that it causes them to revisit, or more likely, actually watch the first season, which was really good.
Second, have you seen any of the Turning the Tables videos on YouTube? It is a white father and son who review music. They have reviews of Cowboy Carter, Lemonade and Renaissance (listed in reverse order of the reviews) from Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar and tons more (you can find them by searching Dad Reacts to _______insert album title). They are so good that I became a subscriber because I want to hear their takes on all sorts of music. They are not coming with a racial, political, or stan agenda. It’s all about the music (and they know a lot) both tonally and lyrically.
Third, are you guys aware of/planning on watching The Big Cigar series on Apple TV? Andre Holland plays Huey P. Newton. Holland is always a reason to watch and Apple TV brings good shit that it seems no one is watching, like Loot, the Maya Rudolph comedy with MJ Rodriguez from Pose.
