I feel like this is the only place where I can talk about. c. kirk getting merked without someone telling me that murder is bad or someone prefacing their comments that they don’t “condone what happened to him but. ” what they gone say next water is wet? I had an old high school classmate question what i said about kirk’s shooter being more far right than him [I posted it on my Facebook page] said he didn’t want false information coming out and killing someone is bad because you don’t agree with their “views” I replied to him that there was no need to whitesplain to me about people getting killed for their views. That’s been a thing since the term black was created. And I also cited my source where I got the info about the shooter. He then tried to go the jesus/ Christian route! Foh!!! The analogy i come up with about kirk dying is this…. gangsta rapper. When emcee(insert any drill rapper here) gets shot. What do we say? Oh well. He talked that shit and sometimes shit talking has consequences. One last thing and Ima let yall go. You know why Republicans/ right wingers went crazy immediately after kirk got shot saying it was a liberal? Cause they knew the shit he was talking was fucked up they just couldn’t say it.! I didn’t go LOOKING for the video of the guy who failed to protect his neck, but it found me. Was never one of those folks that looked at horrid internet things like from the rotten.com era … but congrats to decades of gun violence and horrid rhetoric in this country, I am now desensitized. Watching that video I was like “wow it really is just like the movies…. hmm… anyways, what’s for dinner?”

If I could find the grandma that sat next to me during my viewing of Highest to Lowest in that packed theater, you would have had two people very offended with you. But I get it, you didn’t see the movie with a packed black audience, grandma was giving the right response to every scene “say that again” “amen” “tell them, they don’t listen ” “nooooo” “poor child” I was dying watching this classic. It was an 11am viewing on a Thursday and packed. Then comes Rod killing our black joy. I’m going to report you to grandma!
Btw it looks like Apple only advertised Highest 2 Lowest in places like NYC and LA, cause there were posters around bus stops, train stations etcetera and a few TV spots + trailers at theaters especially in July (I’m an Alamo Drafthouse guy). I just assumed that Apple unleashed the one month promo everywhere. Kinda like Netflix does with their shows (billboards, posters everywhere). So, if the streaming app says “only in select theaters ” that also applies to only showing in two or four major cities? I be learning so much since I joined this nation. Cruise tickets for everyone.
