Lawd have mercy!!! Loved this movie!!! Five Stars! The animation was gorgeous, we hopped right into the story, no need for recaps and the battles were just amazing! I actually did not mind the 2 +plus hours of the movie. I am happy that they did not try to wrap everything up in 2 hours as there was no way to do such. The action, the story, and most importantly, Akaza’s back story. I mean, a brother needed a hug, the realest hug. My mans found peace and love for the first time in his life and it was all taken away from him, so it was on sight for everyone involved. Can I even say that we had some fine Black acting from Akaza? Take a bow, sir because the only thing missing was the Shemar Moore cornrows.

Also why am I tired along with Tanjiro and Giyuu and Zenitsu and Shinobu as they were in there, fighting like hell.

Now, I am also upset because my movie theater did not have any special popcorn buckets, just cards of everyone, that I will use for my bookmarkers.
As always, thank you both for the excellent movie review!

    Hi Rod and Karen,

I agree with you 100%. This Demon Slayer is not to be missed in theaters. I too saw the dubbed version because as Karen stated, there is just too much going on to have to focus your eyes on subtitles. While watching, I came to the conclusion Rod did that the show runners will eventually break these films into smaller sections and air them as the concluding episodes in the series. I actually appreciated the length because it goes to what you were saying, the creators were about providing viewers with a fully fleshed out tale.

I initially thought it was too long and was leaning at 4 1/2 stars. Thinking back, I realized that even as someone who has watched the series from the beginning, the flashbacks serve to explain motivation and further the plot, the result being I give Demon Slayer a 5 stars rating. I will definitely be in the theater for the final two films. Since Demon Slayer (my first foray into anime) will always hold a special place in my heart, I might even purchase the complete dvd set if it ever becomes available. It will likely cost, but I am tired of streamers deciding to remove my favorite shows and movies from their sites, leaving me unable to find them with the dvds sometimes costing hundreds because they are no longer being printed.

FYI: I am giving Rod a special shout out because my students had been trying to get me into anime for years, and it was hearing you rave about Demon Slayer when it began airing on Cartoon Network, that had me jump in, and record the first three episodes I missed (remember the days when networks used to re-air episodes of shows they were trying to get viewers to tune into) ,to be off and running with the series. I have since branched out my anime viewing. I can’t tell you how shocked/impressed my students are when I can discuss assorted anime with them.
