I think you nailed it on Cole assessment. I was in college when he came out and that void you mentioned, was real, especially in mainstream. I didn’t get into him right away. I was probably too busy frolicking with “white friends”, and you guessed it. We no longer speak.
I appreciate the Justin lawn lore. Mind you, I live in Harlem, so I’m enjoying y’alls greenery from the other side of a concrete fence. Y’all make grown folk shit sound liberating without ignoring the frustrations, like Larry June or even…Cole, and like a well-manicured lawn, I’m keeping it short. Stay dope.

Warm Greetings to pre game crew,
boy is it cold up in the big apple, after getting about 11 inches of that white girl! I wanted to chime in on two topics from last week. The binge vs weekly debate, in my opinion, truly depends on the person and the show! For example! I watched his and hers on netflix (starring JL and tessa thompson lol) in one shot! It was 6 eps and i needed to find out the killer before moving on to something else. Mean while you will have a show such as rhe morning show on apple tv which im ok week to week, (plus i dont have a choice because thats how apple delivers it to us. ) i also agreed with you guys saying sometimes ylu can let the show pile up and then go back to it! So its great to have options, and im here for them both.
I also had a question for killa Kay! Karen you said you started getting knto weights, have you considered kettlebells? My homegirl does those and finds it effective! Maybe check it out and see if its something that can work for you.
Stay safe and warm, this has been kne kf the longest Januarys in. While
Have a great weekend!

Forgive my typos, i work outside, and im typing while my hands are cold! Lol
I can’t wait to hear what y’all think about Sky Full of Elephants. – Natasha
Hi Rod, Karen and Justin! I’m a week behind on everything so I’m responding to PG 478 New Year Norovirus because I just sat down to a pork chop that I cooked in a stainless steel pan (which you were talking about at the beginning of the show).
I got this pan a few months ago and it’s my new favorite; lighter than cast iron and sturdy. Picking up where my good brother Sean left off, the key to a “nonstick” surface on stainless steel is making sure that the pan is hot enough; it’s called the Leidenfrost effect. I saw it demonstrated on a YouTube short by Jon Kung; he’s a good follow for Asian food. If you flick a few drops of water in the pan and it beads up and rolls around like mercury, then you’re good to go. That’s when I add my oil, because no oil at all sounds crazy!
I would also recommend a fish spatula as you can also use it for everything that’s not fish.

Good tips! In general, I use oil too, but for high-quality marbled meats I sometimes use my salt method (you don’t need that much and I generally use this method for high-flavor meats that do not need much seasoning). The combination of asparity with the Leidenfrost effect is what makes this method so good at giving the meat a nice sear.
Stainless Steel is pretty good for olive oil or butter basting salmon (I usually season with lemongrass & caraway) you get a nice crispy skin without overcooking the fish.
Also, best hands down snack I’ve found, you may be able to get it in the Asian supermarket, is fried fish skins. high protein/low carb potato chip alternative that, frankly, tastes better. You can even make it at home – if you have a good relationship with the supermarket you can sometimes get their extra skins for free and make your own (although sometimes you have to descale).
