I’m catching up on old episodes, and I just listened to this one last night. Your NBA analysis was brilliant. I’m older than you, and I wanted to expound on one of your points. The league was not better in the good old days. The NBA was an afterthought in the old days. Games were played on tape delay, even the championship games. Billy Paultz and Dave Corzine were starting centers on playoff teams. The Phoenix sons had the Van Arsdale twins. Fat pigs like Tommy Heinsohn were on multiple Celtics championship teams. None of these guys could make a D-league roster.

Today’s NBA is state of the art. It is the only sport with talent from all four corners of the globe. It is the highest level of competition in the world. I would watch Chris Paul over Bob Cousy any day of the week.

I had a cassette Walkman when I was in college. That was state of the art. Now I have an Ipod that can hold 5000 songs. Advantage Ipod.

I know it sounds trite, but I can’t help but blame this hyper crtical attitude towards the NBA on race. I’ve actually heard a lot of these fools say, “I prefer college basketball over NBA.” What the fuck? I prefer watching high school football over the NFL? I prefer watching little league baseball over Major league? Get the fuck outta here!

    Keep up the great work!
