Yes, you guys have helped me grow, and I’m almost 50. Thank you!
It’s a weird thing to say, but I’ve felt disconnected from my Blackness once I left college where I had nothing but black friends, support systems and was in several black organizations. I worked in a corporate environment for ten and I was lucky that they were somewhat liberal although there were microaggressions now that I recall it. Now, I’m in my 12 th year at a public library and librarianship is a pretty white employment field. I’m not cooning, but I don’t really have time where I have absolute immersion in my blackness. Because of Stitcher, I was recommended TGWBT & the Read after I started listening to Desus vs Mero. That was about 3 years ago, and you two have really influenced me. You’ve helped give me vocabulary to describe some social issues; helped me discover other podcasts from a black perspective (i.e. Medium Popcorn, 3 Guys On); and to really remember to focus on my self-care as a black woman. You are influencers, but maybe not in the way that the media calls people on social media influencers. I love you guys.
I think you two are a great example of a healthy respectful relationship.
