Howdy Rod, Karen and Jay Foxhoven*,

I hope all is good with y’all.

Rod, your points last week about how Adam Silver actually does need to reign in some of this player movement opened my mind to a new perspective on the issue. I hadn’t really considered how players treating NBA teams like runs at the Y can leave a lotta those franchises out in the cold with no All Stars or any reason for folks to wanna watch, so thank you for that.

So now OKC is saddled with known testicular terrorist, Chris Paul, I was wondering; do y’all think Chris Paul would stand on a table to scream in Steven Adam’s face or just hop up and down like Daffy Duck?

Did y’all read that Baxter Holmes article about how kids entering the NBA nowadays are ticking time bombs for injuries from *all* those damn miles they put on their bodies as youth, AAU, high school and college players? It’s a long but fascinating read that looks into the effects of youth athletes specializing in sports. Here’s a link for the article:

Thanks for the dope shows and all the hard work y’all do. Have a great weekend y’all, peace!

What up Rod, Justin, and Karen? Thanks for providing the best sports show in the world. Your story about Tiger’s ex Elin Nordegren being pregnant by Jordan Cameron let’s me know that bag securing runs in the family. Jordan Cameron is the brother to Brynn Cameron. She has children by former USC/NFL QB Matt Leinert and Blake Griffin. Remember she won her lawsuit against Blake for $258K a month in child support.

    Thanks,
    Jason

BDS 198: do what massa say

This was an episode where you and Justin were responding to a listeners feedback about sports players on college not getting paid, and the listener felt like they shouldn’t be. When Rod and Justin broke down all the reason why it was wrong, to include inequality, racism, and overall underpayment for performance, it really made sense to me. As much as I listen to Pre game and BDS, i really DONT know that much about sports, and damn sure don’t follow college athletics.

It was really an informative discussion, because I didn’t know that predominately white sports were able to get paid during college, and even sign deals straight out of high school, it’s the majority black sports they are withheld from the money that they can, and should, be making. Hundreds of millions of dollars are made off of college athletes, and they’ll be lucky if they see six figures in benefits (dorm, food, athletic gear, etc.)

Of course the conversation was entertaining and all that, but I just wanted to say thank you for expanding my understanding of college sports! I’ll be back to 2019 in no time lol. Talk to you soon.
