I tried to talk myself into believing that Batman V Superman was a solid three out of five but I think I only rated it as high as I did because Henry Cavill is so sexy. If it weren’t for him, I’d probably give it a one. That movie was so boring. The best part was Wonder Woman and the snippet about the future Justice League members. I should have known this movie would be garbage because the trailer didn’t look interesting. I hope the Suicide Squad is much better because I’m actually looking forward to that one.
I have not seen the Batman vs. Superman movie but I refuse to go see it after my mother took my 5 year old son to see the movie (grandparents) and the next day he did a comparison of the comic book (we taught him how to read at an early age) to the movie and he talked about how disappointed he was. After that I was like hell naw.
I wasn’t going to bring it up again but hearing you talk about Batman/Superman just brought the rage out again. Even if killing and using guns wasn’t completely fucking contrary to the spirit of Batman, it doesn’t even make sense in the story Snyder is telling! How are you calling out Superman for killing people when you’re going out and killing everyone too?
You could have had Batman be the counterpoint to Superman’s unchecked power, and Clark could have called out his vigilantism. The whole point of that fight could have been Bruce teaching him there’s always a way to beat impossible odds and still not kill. But instead of Rick and Morgan type debates they… learned their mothers’ names. And I’m getting angrier just typing.
But I’m still not as mad as those racist islamophobes who tried to intimidate the Nation of Islam and Black Panthers! That’s the definition of picking the WRONG one! But that’s why I’m always drawn to the people who are going to fight back, just like when folks shut down that Trump rally in Chicago. Sometimes bigotry just needs to get checked directly.
