When I heard the concept for Confederate, I immediately thought of East of West. That book is hella compelling. If it’s like that, I’m all the way in. If it’s some bullshit, then I just won’t watch. Fortunately, we live in a time with an abundance of content. So, I’m okay with HBO taking a risk. I’m not saying I trust them, but I’ll at least check it out, bc it’s not the first show to use an alternative history as a means of making social commentary.
