I know Jon B is upset his name was trending behind the foolishness of Chet Hanks. Tom has got to be so embarrassed. How is it possible someone as lovable as Tom produce such a huge piece of shit. You don’t see Colin Hanks acting up like this. All he does is act and mind his business.
On the Suez Canal: if an old black man couldn’t help him out, did that captain try turning the music down when he was attempting to maneuver the container ship out of the parallel park? I’m pretty sure that’s in the Black folk’s handbook. It works whenever I try to get in or out of a tight spot.
Regarding the white boy summer: I feel like Tom set this child up when he named him “Chet”. It’s a classic name for a teenage bully straight out of an 80s movie.
The librarian in me perked her ears up as soon as I heard the words “Free Philadelphia Library,” afraid that the library system had done something to embarrass the Blacks in my profession. lol. BUT NOOOOOOO. DA FUQ!!! I’m literally sitting in my house shouting “No, what is this?” in my Karen voice. C’mon Dr. Brandi, why you throwing us under the bus, sis? Last summer, my library had a racial reckoining in the form of all the Black and Brown staff talking about all the racist microaggressions they suffered at the hands of staff and patrons. I mean 8 hours worth. They called it Real Talk. White people were not allowed to speak. Good night. Dracarys.
To be honest, I chuckled at the story until I realized the speaker was Black. *sigh*

That “comedy” podcast you played on your segment reminds me of a clip when John stewart, f lormer host of the daily show went on the program of some fox news host way back when.
The fox news host was so upset that stewart wasn’t considered “news” so wasn’t critiqued with the same lense as him. Right wing pundits and commentators have been moving towards “comedy” as a shield for their racist views instead of just being a news anchor/reporter ever since.

As you mentioned that story all I thought was don’t feed the birds lol. The story just deserves a quick chuckle and we can get back to ignoring Chet Hanks.
