Can’t front, you guys, I really liked this film. I do happen to agree that the story feels pretty thin, but I think, for me, its characters overcome that enough, that I was rather engaged in the adventure. Benedict Cumberbatch, simply, is having a great 2021 film year. Jesse Plemons is refreshing here. Kirsten Dunst being a drunkard worked for me. Above it all though, Kodi Smit-McPhee, was really good here. Really liked watching him work from scene to scene. Dude was also in X-Men films Apocalypse & Dark Phoenix as Nightcrawler, but his bread & butter has been these independent feature films.
