    Hows it going Nerds

Went to one of the big nerd conventions down here last week & got my wasp funko signed by Evangeline Lily. Had a quick chat about how concussions suck with her cause she said she recently had a fall & was dealing with the effects of one still.

So now I’ve got a signed wasp funko to go with my Antman one.

After watching that Xbox showcase a few weeks back where they announced Grounded 2, I’ve jumped back in to the first one again since I played it when it was in preview mode. I’ve been beating the shit out of all these bugs.

My go to move is climbing high enough in the grass so they can’t reach me & shooting arrows at them. Work smarter, not harder.

& lastly, I think I’ve been doing a good job as an uncle. My nearly 4 yr old nephew is obsessed with Star Wars & also loves watching spider man cartoons & Godzilla clips from Minus one & playing with the toys. He thinks my room is a toy shop.

    Have a good 1
    Wonga

Hey Rod, Karen & esteemed guests.

Ok, got quite a bit, as far as movies goes, so I’ll start with the most recent one I watched, which was M3GAN 2.0. Lots of fun. Definitely less scary than its original but I think it making this shift benefits this latest one. It’s certainly funnier than the original, looks good & despite it being longer than the original, it’s rather paced-better. And ol’ gurl got hands. Allison Williams got hands, too.

28 Years Later – Wasn’t expecting to cry from it, which was certainly cathartic but I found it to be a near perfect experience that’s 1/3 action-horror, 1/3 drama & 1/3 allegorical Brexit tale. Alfie Williams is great as Spike, but, for me, Jodie Comer takes the reigns, playing the mom. The ending may disappoint for some, but I think it pays off in a way that gives the film more of an edge.

Materialists – Speaking of near-perfect, fans of Past Lives will get a kick out of Materialists, which connects to director Celine Song’s former life as a person who once hooked people up on dates, knowing backgrounds, etc. I found it to be a cutting commentary of dating, love, etc. Noticeably, it has gotten a bit of mixed reception, due to how it was originally sold as like a hookup endeavor but knowing the director”s pedigree, it was always going to be exemplary. Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal & Chris “I need a hit outside the MCU so bad” Evans really deliver.

Elio – Bought me to tears & is a beautifully told story on grief & tackling loneliness with the emphasis on space.

Besides the theaters, I haven’t really gamed much. I’m currently waiting on Robocop Unfinished Business, which is a continuation from the well-received Rogue City. It’s like $30 for XBOX S|X & PS5. And I also got my first Assassin’s Creed game in Mirage for under $40. It’s “complete edition”.

As for Comic Books, I had no idea Bane could be even bigger in the Absolute Batman run. That ninth issue was jaw dropping, to say the least. Say no to venom, Kids! Peace.

Hi Y’all, Felix here. Just catching up on the last couple episodes and as always y’all never disappoint.

I’m absolutely devastated at the black panther game being canceled. I’m hoping his team up game with cap isn’t also cancelled but we’ll have to wait and see.
And on the topic of Doctor Who, as someone who was like 12 when the current rebooted series started and have watched every episode, I was enjoying the run of our first black doctor but man how they ended off his run was a huge letdown and lore breaking moment. Not sure how I feel about it until they expand on it but I think teaming up with Disney was a mistake for them in the long run because now they have to wait around for Disney approval on certain stuff instead of just putting a series out every year on a regular schedule. This run was a great entry point for new fans but now I’m completely baffled at the direction we go from here. Hope they can salvage this and not make the whole ordeal feel icky for us who were enjoying the black doctors run. The fact he got the shortest run of the modern incarnations besides the 9th doctor saddens me.

Next up, I read Hickman’s Aliens VS Avengers and man it’s almost blasphemy to say this but imma need him to do a black panther run. Between this and Imperial I know he can do it. There’s zero chance he fumbles. He’s taking Ta Nehisi Coates Toys and actually playing with them instead of ignoring them like every other writer since Coates finished his Panther and Cap runs. Can’t wait to see what Hickman does in the upcoming issues of Imperial.

And lastly, first 3 episodes of Ironheart were so dope. As a fan since her first appearance this is taking the best parts of Bendis initial run, Everything Eve Ewing did to fine tune her character and even aspects of her in team books like Champions. I hope after the show she starts showing up in the comics again. They did such a great job with this show. Coogler really let his people shine on this one. Love to see it. Also pleasantly surprised with Han solos character in this. Perfectly parallels Riris character arc in comparison to his in a way they can’t do in the comics because that character already has a history there and I hope to see more of their friendship in the last half. Can’t wait to see if they manage to include some of the latter half of Eve Ewing’s story in this or if they do their own thing. It feels like a continuation of the themes she explored so I’m insanely happy with the adaptation so far. Alright, love y’all, Felix out.

Hello Rod, Karen and Fellow Nerd Guests!

Shout out to Attack on Titan winning the Global Impact Award at the Crunchyroll Awards. Anyone that knows me knows I love Attack on Titan way too much!

So, shout out to Louie for reminding me that Predator: Killer of Killers came out on Hulu. When I tell you that I also love the Predator franchise and as far as I am concerned, this is the best animated movie of 2025. I loved the stories that tied Vikings, the Ninja from Feudal Japan and the Latino pilot homey together. Also being a fan of Blue Eye Samurai, the animation was just lush and beautiful. Don’t get me started about Prey and how dope that was and how it tied in with this movie. Speaking of Prey and Alien vs. Predator, women of color are officially 2-0 in the Predator franchise, I stans on this!!! I’m hoping that you and Karen review this movie because I need that pop-culture hit in my veins…LOL!

Shout out to Killer of Killers loosening some of chokehold that Sinners has on me. Notice I said some, but not alot. I plan on buying Sinners and having it on replay.

Thank you again Rod and Karen and have a great day!
