So this is the 1st movie that I had the privilege of taking two kids to go see (ages 9 and 7 ), they spent a lot of time talking about jump scares in the movie afterwards. Then two days later, they both described Elio as meh although they claimed to enjoy it. Glordon was their favorite character. I decided that this feedback supersedes mine (I agree with the lack of that Pixar extra).
From the mouth of the babes
Honestly moved by Elio’s colorful tale of a boy looking to belong anywhere in space & was executed very well. Brad Garrett’s Lord Grigon was really good. His “I don’t understand you, but I love you” touched me. I don’t think it’s necessary Pixar’s creative endeavor but it does a lot well in tell a well-told grief story & that everyone is dealing with shit, alone or otherwise.
