I think being a mayor in any major city is a thankless job but it seems to be harder especially for black mayors because I think when there are cities with a large black population they expect the mayor to cater only to their needs instead of serving the entire city. I think that’s why there are so many people who don’t think Obama did enough for black people. I’m in the Philly area and sure do hate that mayor in Philly now. Some of the criticism is deserved but some not. But I don’t think she’s any worse than the last person.
That gender war was elite. It’s so rare when they almost make me forget its a skit but I do think they overplayed their hand a bit when she mentioned him paying all the bills. Still a good one.

I love your podcast. Thank you fir taking the bullets for us by following and reporting all the political news you do. I get so mad and stressed just from your segment, so I can’t imagine what you go through just to collect the stories. You are appreciated.
I kind of like 50s themed restaurants because I feel like the burgers and fries taste better in them. That heightened adrenaline from the possibility of encountering racism thay makes the food tastier.
Like Rod said, I hope this redistricting gamble pays off for Newsom. What isn’t being talked about much online is that during the Obama years, we in California voted to change our constitution to put a non-partisan independent panel in charge of redistricting. So for this plan to work, Newsom needs the state legislature to approve a ballot measure to temporarily suspend the independent panel. Then it would need to be approved by voters. And all of this would have to be done in time for next year’s elections.
