Y’all, I cannot dispute a single thing y’all said about Sisu 2: Balls on the Table. Certainly more ridiculous & over-the-top than the original, certainly could’ve been more co-op than a solo endeavor & maybe that tank scene was a bit ridiculous, yet, here I am smiling like a goddamn chester cat genuinely enjoying it & maybe that’s where I am with this now-franchise after two outings. I knew this movie was with the absurdity after Aatami threw a claymore at a nigga like it was a sport from the first film. Shit was Cuban-B’d like a motherfucker & I just went with it.

Stephen Lang’s always good in basically anything & I happen to think his villainous character had more pathos than Aksel Hennie’s otherwise solid performance as a Nazi General in the first movie. Certainly a more patient baddie than the last one, I liked how calculated he was, as it’s his duty to then kill the legend.

Now, as much as liked this movie, the third one needs more partners like the first one, which did up the ante to 11.

For me, it’s a movie we reallllly didn’t need, but I’m happy exists. It also helps that I saw this for $8 for a special Monday screening & my modest expectations played into how good I felt from start to finish, so, yeah, I dug it.
