Olympics Schlympics, I’m here for The Mess. Did you see that Norweigian biathlete who won bronze and then admitted in his TV interview that he had cheated on his girlfriend and how he’d just told her and it was the worst week of his life? What an idiot! This poor girl is now in the media spotlight. And the guy who won gold after he found their dead teammate never got the shine he deserved. SMH
Danny Ainge is at it again. The Jazz are following the rules and creatively tanking by sitting out their stars in the fourth quarter. I don’t like to shit on the NBA, but Tanking + Gambling is messy, and they do intersect in a way. It seems to be an NBA specific issue as it’s difficult to tank in the NFL, and it’s not as effective in MLB. Do you all consider it a problem? Do you have some ideas on how to fix it if you do?

Congrats to the Seahawks on capping off an excellent season with a wonderful Super Bowl! When did y’all realize the Seahawks had the game won? For me, it was either the 2nd time Drake Maye got sacked by a cornerback or when the Seahawks went up 9-0. Or when I got to point to the screen after Maye floated a pass to Treyveon Henderson and tell my girlfriend, “…and *that’s* what a hospital ball is!” And salute to the MVP, Kenneth Walker III, running the daylights out the ball. And even Sam Darnold beat the Same Darnold allegations!
Now the Patriots? Damn, Will Campbell was fighting for his fucking *life* at left tackle! Mike McDaniels called a terrible game and I hope Maye can shake this off going forward.
Shouts out to Lindsey Vonn for saying that she is *her* and didn’t need no ACL to compete at the Olympics. It’s been a minute since I’ve seen an athlete loudly remind me that they’re fucking crazy. Vonn got a few screws looser than her ACL, cuz I don’t know how else at 40 you decide a week off an ACL tear that you can go do something that damn dependent. Only thing crazier would be winning a medal and then admitting you cheated on your spouse to the whole world!

For some reason, I have the original House Party on my mind (partly, because I own a physical copy, provided by Criterion) lately, with Robin Harris whooping the hell out of Kid for sneaking out to go to that party. And that’s literally what that Defense did to the Patriots. Mike Vrabel once said he’d cut his dick off for a ring & after punting on 4th & 1, I think he reconsidered that decision after realizing, at least that Sunday night, to keep his pride intact. And Seattle looooooves Darnold. Wish Russell got that similar but Football’s fucking weird, I guess.

I’m sending prayers and protection up to Rickea Jackson that whole situation is so crazy and scary. I hope she has love ones , friends or hell even teammates helping her with protection ,since the bullshit court system let that psycho out on bail . And they even granted him bail after he tried to evade the cops and he hit one of the cops with his own car after trying to hit Rickea’s car on purpose!
I was glad Rickea said she was willing to testify against him in court.

Also, about Shadeur, I’ve never said that he was bad, or that he should have been picked so late. I said that he was picked in the correct order for QBs and that all QBs except for Cam Ward dropped much later into the draft than could have been expected. I said that he performed well, but not as good as Gabriel. And I am willing to be surprised (but hoping that TB can pick up Gabriel in a trade…
Anyway, it’ll be nice to have the NFL noise quieted so we can pay more attention to other sports… oh wait, the Olympics have started… great, more sports on TV but no Judo. I think I’ll go play some games on my PC.

I feel bad for Lindsay Vonn, and I wish her a speedy recovery, but this outcome feels like it was 100 percent predictable. Her announcing that she was going to try to compete at the god damned OLYMPICS on a torn ACL has got to be one of the Top 5 White Women™ in Sports thing of all time.
