What it do Rod, Karen and Jhris Balls,
I hope all is well.
Chris Paul announced his retirement last Saturday. Paul closes a the book on storied career across 21 seasons and 7 teams as a 12x All Star, 11x All NBA, 9x All NBA Defense team and 2nd in both steals and assists behind John Stockton; all that shit is on basketball-reference.com and says nothing about the most important parts of his career. It says nothing about Paul hitting Julius Hodges in the nuts and how that wasn’t a flaw or nadir but a defining characteristic of Paul’s approach to basketball. While some point guards save the day with their shooting or elite distribution, only Chris Paul would point out an untucked jersey to get someone a tech to save the day. For as annoying as RINGZZZ culture has been, watching one elude Chris Balls for all these years has been quite hilarious. I hope he enjoys retirement after a long career and finally makes up his mind about shaving his head.
Have any of y’all read the book “Everybody Loses” by Danny Funt? He was on Bomani’s show a couple weeks ago to talk about his book about this new age of sports gambling and good goddamn, this shit is *wild*. Adam Silver’s NY Times op-ed about the legal gambling comes up and has aged like Derrick Rose’s ligaments; Silver had cited a figure for illegal gambling that was originally just a wide ass estimate.
I hope y’all have a wonderful rest of y’all week and weekend. Thanks as always for the dope shows!
Peace,
Dough
Greetings Rod, Karen, and Jon harper
Before i say anything can we please listen to this twitter clip….

Ron harper old stuttering ass, that missed a lay up when he was on the court for team harper got some damn near taking a shot at the king!
Its really getting tiresome to hear former players and of course the president or the lbj hate club (stephen A) constantly come at this guy! It will be a bitter sweet day when lebron retires! What are alot of these media guys gonna do when hes gone? Who will be the next villain?
Lastly i know u guys have spoke about the ASG on the regular show so i wont drag it, but i do wanna say, im so used to all star saturday night being at NIGHT! I was home laying down around 6pm just waiting…. When i saw a notification that say Kon was in the 3 point contest final! I was confused! I didn’t realize the saturday festivities, started at 5pm, which would be 2pm in LA. Not sure why nbc/peacock had it so early! Was it something with the winter olympics or valentines? Im not sure, but i know im not the only one that was thrown off by the time! I did catch the final round with dame and booker tho.
Rip to Jesse jackson and P. U. S. H. !

Wanted to give a couple quick Olympic shout outs: first, shout out to Elana Meyers-Taylor, for winning Gold in the one-woman bobsled. Her win not only ties her with Bonnie Blair as the most decorated American woman ever at the Winter Olympics, but it also makes her the oldest woman (she’s 41) ever to win Gold in an individual event at the Winter Olympics, and the most decorated Black woman in the history of the Winter Olympics, with six career medals in total.
Also, shout out to Laila Edwards: they won’t have played the Gold Medal game yet by the time y’all record this podcast but, on Thursday, USA plays Canada for the Gold Medal in women’s hockey and, win lose or draw, Laila Edwards will become the first-ever Black woman to win an Olympic medal in hockey.
