That story about the lady who shot her man because he dared her could have been about one of my family members. My cousin was married to mean drunk and she got tired of his shenanigans and pointed a gun at him and he said I wish you would and she did, right in his foot. He’s been walking with a limp ever since and they’re still together.
Comment in the poll: I don’t know that we have any local indie print papers besides the paper run by a homeless organization (Real Change), but we do have digital indie news. One of my faves right now is called CityCast and they have one for most major cities. They do a daily cast and newsletter and they bring on other local indie reports as guests. I wonder if they have a CityCast Charlotte?
Really loved this episode! Feels super relevant to learn a bit more context about how local news works since it’s more reliable than a lot of natl news these days in my opinion. I also really loved hearing yall interact with local peeps…felt special. Shout out to Queen City Nerve. Once I heard that Ryan was a white man I got curious and of course…Black wife!
