Me and the wifey went to Vegas in 2024 to watch nas perform his first album illmatic with the vegas philharmonic orchestra. It was the 30th anniversary of the album. He performed at the wynn an we also stayed there! It was amazing!

I’m so glad you had a great time in Vegas and everything went without a hitch. I hope this brings you more fans and more prosperity. Vegas is one of my favorite cities that I’ve visited in this country. It’s so fun and not just the gambling. I’m not much of a gambler and once my 20 dollars is gone I’m done gambling. But as a foodie, Vegas is one of the top food destinations in the world because any kind of cuisine you want, they have it. Plus that’s where all the top chefs in the world have their restaurants. It’s foodie heaven. Plus it’s a spectacle and if you’re a people watcher like me, you’re never bored. There’s a restaurant on the strip called the Heart Attack Grill where you can eat free if you weight 350lbs plus and there’s a big scale in the front of the restaurant and I stood outside for at least an hour watching people weigh themselves. Only downside was all the meth heads but other than that I would go again.

I’m glad that the show went well! I thought about coming one day when you do a live show, but it must be in different political times.
You can also buy alcohol here in every supermarket at every hour and also the hard stuff.
So it’s in this way like Vegas, but that’s probably the only way.

The one annoying thing about “medicinal” shops in Germany is that you have to show proof of residency to buy anything…

For alcohol you need nothing, you just have to be an adult.

Vegas native here — there is A LOT of tourism from Asia. Or at least we did before Trump got elected the second time. Anyhoo… A lot of the gaming themes are centered around Asian culture. If any Asian people are offended by it they should definitely speak up because they’d probably change it.
Also, for the alcohol thing. You can buy alcohol any time of the day every day of the week and you can buy hard liquor at the grocery store. You can openly drink walking down the street even outside the strip. You just can’t loiter anywhere with alcohol. You have to keep it moving. I often forget this isn’t common for most of the country whenever I travel. Alcohol is critical to Vegas culture. Even at community events there is going to be an alcohol vendor. It’s sad, but living here you don’t think twice about it.
The desert sun is harsh in the daytime during the spring/summer months but when the sun goes down it’s the best!
    Glad you all enjoyed yourself.

I was thinking it was related to the fact that Chinese were among the first people to settle Vegas, and thus were a deep part of the history of the town.

In Japan drinking alcohol in public is also common, and people often grab a train beer on the way home. You can also grab a bench in a park and go to town. I find the idea of open bottle laws frankly unsettling now that I have perspective. It seems like a law based on religious beliefs which would make it unConstitutional (first amendment and all),

This has to be one of the most fun recaps of a trip and experience of an event that I’ve listened to. I’m really glad that you guys got to enjoy your trip out to Vegas along with PodJam. All the best to your Hornets in the Playin.

Btw I need the audio of Karen’s apology at the beginning. I got a few people to apologize to and want to send that as my official “take or leave it” apology to the peasants!
