Not my favorite in this 31-year old series (it’s either 1 or 3; I’m currently rewatching the series), but it just might be the funniest iteration yet. So glad Jessie became the center stage of this one, because a fifth version of Toy Story could’ve been a very derivative outing. Luckily, it’s not. While Disney won’t say no to digital crack, I do appreciate this film not being disingenuous about the affects of smartphones & screens can do to a child’s mind (even adults, for that matter). At this point, after the wonderful coda that was Toy Story 3, I’m taking these last two TS outings as “blessings” & not “condescending disdain”.
