What up BDS crew, Adam Silver just dropped the hammer on the Clippers and Ballmer. Rod, you’ve been downplaying Pablo’s reporting on the situation the whole time, even when he’s produced as close to a smoking gun as you can get without subpoena power, multiple times over the 15 or so Kawhi Leonard episodes. Personally, I don’t care about the Clippers but it was wild to see you so staunch in your position on the whole ordeal and I’m like, clearly Rod hasn’t seen any of the recent episodes. Pablo can be messy but he also does great work. I’m glad to see it pay off. Silver is sending the Clippers back to the projects where they belong. They are a can’t-get-right kinda organization. I’m sure Ballmer ain’t the only nigga cheatin but the kawhi deals were just insane. What I found most interesting about the whole situation was how Uncle Dennis was always getting a piece of the pie. He ain’t scored one basket but he’s strong arming everybody. Good for him.

So luol deng, formerly of the bulls is owning some lawyers! He hired to lawyer to handle some real estate business in New York and Chicago, and have yet to received payment. They suing him for about 1.05 million dollars! The law firm just sued him last week and of course “no comment” was his jam when asked for a response.

While I don’t think it’s worthy of the Ray Lewis drop, two sports media heads got entangled with the law this week. Bill Simmons pleads I’m Dumb and didn’t know he couldn’t use his daughter’s boyfriend to place bets for him. Truthfully, I do think this is silly ‘cuz Bill is only in trouble because he can’t use Fan Duel in California. Nick Wright devotes entire shows to his gambling lines. Then Tony Romo pleads no contest to his OWI and can’t drive for six months and has to enter an alcohol program. These guys are dropping like flies — only McAfee will be left standing.
Also on another media note, one of my critiques of First Things First is they never have women analysts/guests on, so I was surprised to see Rachel Nichols appear as a guest host on while they were on vacation. I was glad to see her. I know she made a shitty disparaging video but I guess also she was technically right since it was in her contract. Seemed like media banishment was a heavy price to pay and it was nice to see her on network TV again.

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to the UpShot league, a minor women’s professional basketball league founded by former WNBA president Donna Orrender, that just ended its inaugural season this past weekend. Even though one of the teams plays in Charlotte (at the Bojangles Coliseum), I don’t know how tapped in y’all are to the minor league sports scene in Charlotte, but they made it to the championship game, where they lost to the team from Jacksonville.
Only a handful of players in UpShot could be considered WNBA caliber, most notably AD Durr, who plays for Charlotte (AD was the Number Two pick in the Jackie Young draft, and most recently played for Atlanta in 2023), and the Jacksonville team that won featured five players who all had at least some WNBA experience.
They only had four teams this season, two of which were in North Carolina, and they intend to expand to six next season. If the UpShot league proves viable, it could potentially function as a minor league/feeder league for the WNBA… Any chance y’all might make it to a game next year?
Im assuming yall will talk about it in the next episode since it just happened, but PLEASE tell me yall heard about this nigga who was pretending to play for the 49ers.
