What’s up Rod, Kris’s, Aaron and hopefully Karen,
Soooo saw Aquaman and the best I can say is it’s not Justice League or BVS soo for DC I guess that’s a start. But I will say Shazam will be a bigger test for me because that the first post Snyder project. Also they already threw their timeline out the door. So we saw Author and Mera talk in Justice League but in here we act like they never met also he got his trident from mera in Justice League but in here he had it since a child WTF lol. Whatever it will make some money cuz ppl like Jason Mamoa but this was not a “good” film.

On the flip side super hero tv has been lit this year. flash, arrow, supergirl, legends and the gifted have all been fire so far and that crossover nigga god damn. But what do y’all think about how hey setup Gotham and the upcoming Batwoman tv show? Brunch been missing, Kate running the show seems interesting. Ruby wasn’t anything to get excited about but I remeber ppl saying the same thing about Stephen Amell to start so it may work.

Anyway keep up the great work,

    Brandon

  2. Kriss is right, that male sexbot story y’all read last show is the best news I’ve heard. Now I’m just waiting for the Agent Liberty of Sexbots calling them roaches taking our jobs and our women. Niggas gonna be fighting Common in the streets talking about AI.

This platform has really been on the forefront of this news, so I come to you confused and looking for answers. When did Azealia Banks become the ghost whisperer for these tech dudebros? And how many chickens do we need to sacrifice to make it stop? First she’s partying with Elon Musk staying in his house for days and getting him hemmed up with the SEC, and now Twitter’s CEO is sending her his beard hair so she’ll put protection on him? How did we get here?

Listen guys, I wasn’t ready. So I watched the Avengers:End game trailer, and i feel like it showed me nothing, but it was beautiful. All of a sudden, I felt like I was at the end of the first Avengers movie, and a wave of sadness took over me. I felt like Tony actually might not make it. I felt like America had fallen, and Captain was at his wits end.

I really didn’t know how much I cared about Ronin until I saw his face in the trailer. So much so, that I didn’t know what his name was until I just looked it up lol. But he looks PISSED. I just know he lost his entire family, and he might actually fuck Captain America and Black Widow up. And when I saw Ant Man at da do’, I literally yelled out loud WHAT THE FUCK??!! GIRL, this is going to be good. They showed us absolutely nothing until Ant Man, and yet, they showed us more than enough. I’m going to be honest, I don’t want to see another trailer. I want to be lost in the mystery of what is going to happen. And then they had the nerve to not even show Thanos’ ugly mug!

Then I heard there was a new Captain Marvel trailer out. Keep in mind, I only watch the movies, no comic books, so this is my introduction to Captain Marvel. And I really felt like Karen does, when she says they could’ve showed Captain Marvels pinky toe and it would’ve been enough. But in those few minutes, I really was emotionally invested in who exactly she is, and where she came from, and what in her past led her to this moment. I was an Airman in the US Air Force for almost seven years, and she LOOKED like a pilot. She looked good in that uniform, and she really felt like she got involved in this superhero world unexpectedly.

And they really did Samuel L Jackson right!! I have seen where the digital editing looks a little funky, but they just transported him in the time travel machine and went back about 30 years to when he had two eyes and no grey hair. They did him really well.

But when Captain Marvel was flying in these skies, and glowing, and her hair was raised, tears welled up in my eyes. Guys, before the trailer, I DIDNT KNOW THIS LADY. And yet, in two minutes, i went from who is this lady to “she will save them, she will save them all”.

I know this might be a hot take. Do not get me wrong, I love everything Marvel is doing, the world they’ve created, and Infinity War is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen, top 3, no caveats. But I really wasn’t sure Id buy into Captain Marvel. In my mind, it took a decade for me to get emotionally invested in Marvel, so with a dozen characters and the world at stake, of course I would like it. And because the stakes are even higher in End Game, I was expecting to care about part 2. But to go from a culmination of characters, history and events to introducing a new character at what seems to be the end of a main storyline, I really wasn’t sure if they could make me feel like she’s the one who will make the difference.

I was absolutely wrong. I should never doubt Marvel. Captain Marvel deserves for me to put respect on her name. She’s the next generation of The MCU, and I look forward to what Marvel’s got up their sleeves.

This was extremely long for two trailers, but I think it’s nothing short of artistry what Marvel has been able to do with these stories. And Stan Lee (RIP) would be nothing short of proud of what they’ve done. I hope his legacy lives on.

Last thing: do you think Marvel will make Stan Lee’s last cameo emotional? Here’s my prediction (cameo only): in End Game, we will see Stan Lee one last time. He’ll be in one of the end scenes, he’ll talk to one or both of the Captains (America and Marvel), and it’ll be a tearful goodbye. And we will all cry and hold ourselves at night.

Ok y’all. That’s enough. I love the show, and look forward to it whenever you all link up. Thank you so much for taking the time to read all of this!

Wow. I’m digging your post, CT. If that Stan Lee cameo makes me emotional, they will have to scoop me off the damn floor.

Speaking of Gerard Butler, I enjoyed the fuck out of Hunter Killer.

I really loved your anti-vax riffs. I was choking laughing. Hold off on putting Ecksy in the Taylor Kitsch category until the Elton John bio comes out.

  7. Hey guys,

Is anyone reading the new Shazam!, Shuri, or Killmonger comics? I just bought all three and wanted to know if anyone else was also reading them. I’m also belatedly about to start reading the Brian Michael Bendis Superman comics as well; I’ve heard good things about them, and I’m kind of rekesced they’ve shed some of the New 52 style from Supes and them.

DJ Benhameen doesn’t write for American Gods anymore – he said on his show that he lost that gig when AMC fired Bryan Fuller & Michael Green.

If they get Hugh Jackman back to play Wolverine again, that’s a one time thing. That man wants to sing and dance again, and he is touring his behind off singing songs from “The Greatest Showman” in concert.

I actually hope the Plastic Man movie comes to fruition. Its screenwriter is a Black woman, Amanda Idoko, and Plastic Man himself is one of the most underrated and underutilized property in the DC stable. Maybe he can’t carry an ongoing comic book anymore because every wants everything bloody, dark, and gritty (*spits*), but a movie or a cartoon show would be a no-brainer. Just make it as…well, for one, actually make it…but for two, just make it as fun and silly as possible. Maybe cast a Black guy to be Plastic Man? Would that spark a thinkpiece since he started as a criminal? Just do not cast a Black man to coon it up as Woozy Winks – my heart wouldn’t be able to take it!
