Hi Rod, Kriss, Aaron and hopefully Karen,

I bought a ticket to Shazam based in Kriss’s recommendation. I’m hoping .that I don’t have to add Kris’s to my list on black men I side-eye every time they say something. My concern about Shazam is clearly DC centered. I don’t see them really promoting the film, or at least in my opinion, promoting it well. I also think they picked a bad release date because everyone I know who is talking about going to see a movie the weekend on April 5th is talking about Pet Semetary, which isn’t surprising given the massive success of the first part of IT. So, unless Shazam gets phenomenal reviews and Pet Semetary received horrible reviews, DC might have done better to release the film either the week before, or the week following Pet Semetary.

I am curious to hear if anyone is looking forward to Marvel’s War of the Realms. This series is going to be the first I buy in physical form since returning to comics. I decided to start with this series because I really like Jason Aaron’s work and the preview art I saw looks amazing. Because I live in a majority white area and I wanted this experience to be fully positive, I made my purchase through Amalgam Comics because it is owned by a black woman. I can’t wait to start reading.

As always, I’m looking forward to the cast and learning about more nerd shit.
