Felt cute. Might write to y’all about Endgame in depth on a future Nerd Off later. I’ll just say that it makes sense that script writers and directors who formally worked on television shows like “Community” that HEAVILY played with genre and TV and film tropes got what essentially is the greatest…(“season finale”? “Series finale”? it is the end of a saga. Maybe the term “volume finale” is more apt? Idk) the shit was unimaginable.

Shazam’s greatness seems to be achieved by leaning more Donner-esque than Snyder like. There was darkness in this film, but it felt more human and relatable, and not so cynical and impressed with itself.

Twitter had this debate (surprise) on the need for a black female led live-action superhero movie. Storm got mentioned and some folk got in they FEELINGS. Karen and any ladies that may be present, how do y’all feel on the subject?

    Dazz.

    TNO

    Hello Everyone,
    (NoSpoilers)
I’m just writing in to tell you that EndGame was the greatest movie of all time. I loved it. As Iron Man hit 11 years today, it was the movie that introduced me to the world of comic books and Marvel heroes. And 11 years later, I can say it was one hell of a ride. I don’t think anyone will ever be able to replicate this cultural impact in cinema again, at least not in my generation. Just beautiful!

Thanks for covering this and all other nerd topics!

Hi Rod, Karen, Kriss and Aaron,

First off, that Endgame tho. My Thor, that was amazing! After watching it the first time all I did on the ride home was listen to Alan Silvestri’s Avengers Theme and Boys II Men “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye.” It was bittersweet but I wasn’t as wrecked as I was after watching Infinity War because Marvel (Fiege) did such an amazing job with the previous movies over 11 years that the story arcs that ended felt earned, so although it was still sad it felt right and THAT is Sam good writing and filmmaking. Anyone who still shits on comic book movies can go take a damn seat. Fiege and company created an extraordinary cohesive saga with multiple arcs and nuanced characters and stuck to landing better than Coopala did with The Godfather saga but snobs will still continue to overly praise one as high art and the other as fluff. Whatever, I’m still going to watch Endgame and Captain Marvel again over the weekend.

Anyway, just as I am still trying to gather myself from Endgame, Marvel gets me again with the announcement of 2 series on Hulu Ghost Rider AND Hellstorm! This isn’t the Midnight Sons show I’ve been wanting but it is close enough. I’m hyped AF! Especially since Gabriel Luna will he reprising his role as Robby Reyes. Disney is coming for ALL of the coins!

Lastly, have you heard about end scene villian cameo in Hobbs and Shaw? I read on io9 that Keanu Reeves is going to be the next big bad in the Hobbs and Shaw/ Fast and Furious franchise. If this is true, imma lose my shit. All this bad assery and hotness in 1 movie, YES PLEASE! Between this, John Wick 3, Toy Story 4 (he’s voicing new character Duke Caboom),Always Be My Maybe on Netflix and possibly Bill and Ted 3, Keanu is on a roll and I am here for it!

Anyway love you guys and all of your shows. Keep up the great work!

    Sincerely,
    Roz

I know it’s not a surprise when Marvel drops a 6 outta 5 classic anymore, but goddamit I was not ready for this shit. I thought Infinity War was bad making grown men cry but those were momentary gasps, this had a nigga thugging out tears for the last hour. When we finally got that moment, and then the shit they set up at the end? Bruhhhhhh. I needed this with my whole heart.

And then we’re getting Dem Agents byke next week? Goddamn take your foot off our necks for one second! Between this and Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider back on Hulu we’re living the dream!

    Hello Nerds,

Shazam was a good suggestion! I would’ve never saw it if it wasn’t for TNO recommending. I loved it. It was a cute story, and I hope that DC sticks with these type of films.

Karen, I too am susceptible to spending money on online games. I got really bad in bejeweled, spending hundreds of dollars on extra skills so I can clear harder and harder boards. And don’t get me started on the cooking games!! I loved them. It was so bad, I was planning my real life around when my virtual food would be done. I had to cut them off cold turkey. It was a painful loss, but it was healthier for me.

With that being said, does anyone know of a cooking game that I could play on Xbox? On my phone and iPad, I had games like ‘Can You Escape’, Bejewled, cooking dash, wedding dash, and criminal case. Idk what category these games are, is there a name for it? Money suckers?? Seems appropriate.

If you all have any recommendations on games I could play on Xbox or an iPad, that WONT cost me a lot of money, let me know. Until then, thank you for the content and I’ll talk to you all soon!
