Is DaBaby being blacklisted?

    Hey Rod and Karen,

I’m halfway through Dahmer and my husband finished it. It is a great show. Im glad I didn’t listen to the internet telling me it was bad or dangerous or harmful. How? It’s doing everything the internet tells us a show must do to be right.

This feels like Them and Lovecraft Country all over again. People who didn’t watch didn’t and weren’t planning on watching and needed justification as to why they aren’t bad people for not watching, but those watching are bad. And worse those same people complaining that those shows existed were somehow outraged that the shows they said were harmful to Blacks, bad storytelling and quality, cried out like hit dogs when they didn’t get the Emmys and Golden Globes they deserved.

OMG! That sword is kinda beautiful… That Titanium Nitride coating is really nice! I may need a kitchen knife with that coating.

I honestly think Boosie is more upset over the Dahmer movie because the victims who were mostly gay are portrayed with humanity. I doubt he would actually give a damn otherwise.
It was actually a very good series and I liked it because it gave the victims more of a voice and I learned stuff about the case I didn’t know beforehand, particularly about the incompetence, and neglect of the police department. So many times he should have been caught because Dahmer was not clever at all, just a white dude.

I don’t think DaBaby is being blacklisted. I think he’s not doing great because his music isn’t hot anymore. Look how long people let Kanye ride off the strength of his music. People will forgive as long as you keep making hits.

I think that some criticism of the Boston Celtics is valid because it does seem that someone in the organization has made it a point to publicly embarrass Ime. Stephen A mentioned that a similar situation had happened in the Timberwolves organization and that person was quietly let go. If you want to say that you can’t “quietly let go” a head coach, then I would point to Stan Van Gundy leaving the Miami Heat. Stan was let go during the season for “personal family reasons” and to this day, nobody has gone on record to say what those reasons were. The Celtics could have used that same Van Gundy playbook to put out a joint Ime/Celtics press conference saying that Ime needed to take a year off to address a private family matter. From the outside looking in it seems as though one of the parties involved wants to make sure that Ime’s name is tarnished. Either way, nigga shouldn’t have been messy, so it is what it is.

    Hey Karen,
Pandemic related anxiety is so very real. My daughter is in therapy as well for her anxiety that manifested during the pandemic. She’s one of a few kids who continues to wear her mask to school. My little cousin who is 1 year older than my daughter, still doesn’t give out hugs, and she used to LOVE hugging me. When she sees me now she runs up to me and gives me a loving elbow bump.
And I don’t blame her because folks are still out here getting it! All it takes is one time for your guard to be down to get sick. My husband got Covid for the second time over the summer. We’re pretty sure he contracted it while at a family cookout. He was so excited to see his family he wasn’t masked, like the two of us, and was hugging on everyone. He’s usually more careful, but I was sympathetic because he hasn’t seen folks in a long time. He quarantined away from us and we didn’t get sick, which I’m grateful for.
So I thank y’all for continuing your coverage of Covid related news. Flu season is right around the corner and apparently you can get both at the same time. People are getting really lax out here. So I totally feel you.

    Love,
    Iman

    I’m confused about covid now.
    The facts:
I’m 3x vaccinated, one time recovered. I had a very easy case and wasn’t even tired. It was a mild cold. I’m not eligible for the second booster, too young ( Rods age exactly) too healthy.
Covid is everywhere again. The good news is delta seems dead as I heard on a science podcast. ( for now) its omicron baby, everywhere. Masks seem to help a lot because I was in a mask around people who got it the next day and I have nothing. It’s been 8 days since. I’m negative. Everytime one of our kids sneezes I think its covid again. I fully expect to get it for the second time. I made my peace with it. My parents still didn’t get it . They see the kids almost every day only when the kids tested positive they didn’t. They were with them the day before inside- nothing. People here go back to masks inside more. As I said I’m confused.

Oh, Rod is exactly at my work stuff now. Heart failure- that’s what I’m really an expert on as it is my main subject for the last 6 years. Older people get worse covid and more failure. In addition covid can make heart conditions worse. But from what I’ve seen discussed heart failure from Covid tends to get better over time. Unless people die of it of course. Why must everything be complicated.

Because CoViD causes a Bradykinin storm, not the Cytokine storm initially thought, blood coagulation is a major issue. There was a Texan doctor early on using blood thinners to decrease mortality. Furthermore, there have been cases of children ten and younger having strokes as the result of CoViD infections [e.g. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S240565022100037X ].

It seems the peak risk period for people without comorbidities raises with age (whereas the risk of myocarditis (inflammation of the heart) and pericareditis (inflammation around the heart) [e.g. http://pubs.sciepub.com/ajmcr/8/12/19/index.html ] seems to peak in the mid (female) to late (male) teens with males being at higher risk overall).

Recovery from either a blood clot related injury (stroke or heart attack) or myocarditis/pericarditis appear to have a normal recovery arc except in cases associated with long CoViD.

      I hope that helps.
