Happy belated birthday Rod! I’m glad to hear you had a great time on your special day.
I no longer go all out for my birthday. What I have done in recent years is an informal birthday tour where I would schedule lunches or dinners with my extended family members I don’t get to talk to very often when everyone is together. And on the day of, I have a Zoom call in the evening with the whole family and my grandmother will do something special.
My favorite birthday was in 2018 when I got to see Earth, Wind, and Fire perform at the Embassy and they played my favorite song from their catalogue – Boogie Wonderland.
Happy belated birthday Rod. I’m so glad you had a nice birthday. That restaurant sounds really special. It’s a shame people treat restaurant workers so foul that they’re actually surprised when they have nice customers. I make it a rule to never go out to eat with people who are rude to wait staff. I once had dinner with a lady who would snap her fingers at the server and that was the last time. I was so embarrassed.

Of course I agree here, but I think it’s even worse. He didn’t even ask himself if he might be racist, he sees himself as a legend in my opinion and doesn’t reflect his behavior.
It’s the level of racist where he isn’t even say that he has a black friend because he doesn’t think he should have to talk to black people.
Also that rock music only became good when white people started making it.
Yesterday I talked to new black people, but it’s really not easy here due to no opportunities. I don’t want to be like Jann Wenner. A couple asked me for the way to a gynecologist in a hospital where it was a little complicated to find. I said, I show you if you want, they wanted and went some part of the way with them until we were at the sign. They smiled at me, said thank you and I left. They are my real life black friends now. It’s what I get here. But I try! But not too much, so that it’s bad in another way!
I mean they are the best black friends I have right now. I promise not to mention it anywhere else ever.
Terrible people can be conventionally very attractive.
And also, good, nice people can be unattractive.
We learned from fairytales and movies that the hero, the good person is the beautiful one and the bad person is the ugly one. As if the beauty was the reward for goodness and the ugliness a sign from God to us all to watch out.
