I appreciate the correction of the revisionist history on Jada. She was a baddie back in the day and all the homies loved Jada.

I think there’s a lot of revisionist history on Chris Rock, too. That clip w/ Louis CK and the Blacks vs N—s joke seem to have firmly stamped him as never ever being for the people. But the Blacks Vs joke didn’t make people cringe back then, and I don’t think that he would do that in 2023. They forget that he was big into hip hop, not just on interludes, and sat in on recording sessions w/ several groups, hence a movie devoted to the never ending debate about people’s Top 5. In general, it just seems that like you all have said, people are so dug in on their positions on the slap that they have to retcon the last 30 years to make their original opinions still hold true. He’s not without his flaws, but dang, folks act like he doesn’t have any black friends and hates black people. It would have been interesting to hear Rae Sanni’s take on that, but it sounds like she’s working with him now, so maybe that’s tougher to talk candidly about.

I loved this episode of banter. It was like being in a room of good friends laughing and having a good time. It’s always entertaining when Rae comes on the show. Glad she survived the writers strike.

Five Stars! The three of you together soothed my soul. I am planning to go back, and watch Justified because just like Rae Sanni, Timothy Olyphant can get it!

a bassey, rae, rod, and karen podcast would be endgame levels of dope.

I really liked your conversation with Rae especially about battling your critical voice. My therapist and I discuss the same thing. You could be doing well, receiving all the praise but one negative comment is the one that makes you doubt yourself. My therapist’s advice is similar to Rae’s. She tells me to redefine negative comments to something positive. For example, I’m not a weirdo but a person with unique interests. Anywho…great episode. You all work hard and I appreciate TBGWT.
