What a great episode. Something I think that set white people back is the snyderverse tanking over and over again last year, particularly since the toxic fanboys seem to hold it in such high regard. The Flash in particular. That movie was ass. I hope it and Ezra Miller stays in 2023.
You two have been on fire for the last two weeks. I’ve been loving your countdowns and wrap ups. Setting Black and White people back are classics. I only joined TBGWT around early 2016, so this was a pleasant addiction to my ears!! I’m not a gamer but I really enjoyed your top games of 2023. It keeps me somewhat relevant with the teens at work.

Going for a twofer comment on this one…. Something about sports that makes me uncomfortable is a racial aspect, especially with like boxing and football. We know how a lot of white sports fans feel about black people, so it’s always struck me as fucked up that they’ll place bets and cheer on two black men fighting in the ring, for example, but at the same time not see them as ACTUAL people. I’m not sure if I’m articulating this right, the feelings of discomfort here. But the same with the football point you’re making. They’ll cheer on their players on “their” team, seeing them as THEIRS with a sense of pride that comes with some twisted ownership, and then not value them as people doing a skilled job who deserves that pay, or who deserves equal rights even.
And that’s why I’m so happy that I dont consume ANY sports. I do it exclusively for ethical reasons and it was never different, and its definitely not because i dont care. Not even Fussball and that’d unusual in Germany. I dont know what’s happening in the sports unless a pop star starts dating a sporty or something.
I need to rage out on baking soda + vinegar combo real quick.
The boiling/baking soda works because of heat and abrasion.
Everyone thinks that the bubbling action of combining baking soda and vinegar is some sort of magic cleaning element, but it’s not. This might make it look like it lifts all the grime, but it’s really just shoving any already loosened particles up to the surface, and not doing any magic bubbling cleaning. Combining vinegar and baking soda neutralizes each other, and effectively what you get is fancy salt water when all is said and done. That’s it. Baking soda is good for cleaning because it deodorizes and is abrasive without being too scratchy, vinegar is good for cleaning because it is acidic. They’re great separately, they LOOK effective together with the foaming, but it’s not really doing anything.
This is an episode I don’t want to be the number one on!
Quick check: I don’t call the police on anyone, the maximal amount of braids I ever wore were 2, I mostly listen to music with no lyrics so no accidents possible here, and instead of slurs I invent new insults that can be used on any race.
I should be fine. Oh oh. That’s what all the bad people say.
