Do you get the day off for MLK Day?

When I worked a corporate job I took every MLK day off. I would request the time off and that was the only day management would approve all the black people’s day off with no questions asked. The white people were heated because their requests for that day off was usually denied because there wasn’t enough coverage that day.

    The Shoebootie origin story…
Family nickname. Comes from the All in the Family show from like the 70s. Why did my dad decide to go with this? IDK man, it’s not like i wore one shoe and one boot. He just thought it was funny and it stuck.

This was one of my favorite episodes. This was a complicated show and at the time I didn’t know as much about my history but in my mind they were just poor people getting by. It showed Archie vulnerable.

    About my relationship:
Every other guy I ever dated annoyed me so much more than my husband ever did. And I never met anyone else who I thought would be a better fit overall. And the love is there.
So dealing with a strong introvert seems to be something that is a learning for me in this life.
So I don’t even think that the grass is greener somewhere else. It’s just dry in another spot and very probably way less green overall.

I started doing yoga a year ago. I only went to the studio to learn some positions to do them at home once or twice a week.
I ended liking it so much as I never liked a work out in my life ever before. It was one of the great surprises in my life. Now I’m going 3-4 times a week to the studio and do yoga at home on the other days of the week for 30 minutes.
I’m also extremely surprised by the results. My body is like, great. ( for me)
So it can happen that you find something you really love after 40 that works!
