Rod and Karen banter about putting the phone on DND for NYE, sacred baby dap, New Year gun celebrations, and Return of the Mack. Then they discuss some suspected terrorist incidents in New Orleans and Chicago, fireworks explosions in Hawaii and Germany, a Lego display falls at an NYE ball drop event, moderate drinking is good for you now according to a new study, TikTok influencers are replacing medical professionals while spreading misinformation and sword ratchetness.

I spent my new years in bed watching anime and I have no regrets.
The biggest surprise I have about the Return of The Mack song is that dude is British. I don’t know why that’s funny to me but it is. My guy came out of prison looking for the smoke bruv.
I read 3-5 journal articles before I take new medication, but I’ve got the training and PhD. Having pharmaceutical commercials on TV in the US is crazy because they are designed to create uninformed demand… Which helps breed distrust…
That being said, I think that the cult mentality (believe us and everyone else is lying) has been fostered especially in the US over the past half century. From the raygun political campaign (don’t trust the gov’t, trust greed-based corporations) to faux news (all msm is false except for us) to Apple’s marketing strategy (join the apple ecosystem and reject all other technology), the US is inundated with organizations trying to utilize the machinery designed by cults.
It’s hardly surprising that people who grew up in a world forged in cult methodology are using it for their podcast membership growth strategies…
My doctor is grateful that I am not “that patient” that will bring something to her that I found off the internet to her. I mean, how does it sound when me, a patient will trust something off the internet instead of a trained profession with my actual lab results. Whew, these are different times that we are living in.
Last year kicked off with Katt Williams exploding the internet, this year kicked off with real life exploding. Good thing I danced to Kendricks “we gonna be aight” just before midnight on NYE.
Now I was preparing to drop a story from my eyewitness report of NYE fireworks in Germany & Nigeria (separate), witnessed Bahrain too but it was mild compared to what man seen in those places. Makes a time traveler repent!
But that’s not why I’m here, ban TikTok and all these fake hoes pretending to be wellness whatever on that app. Btw is it any wonder why the most popular dude on TikTok doesn’t speak and just smiles or does the idk thing. If a fanatical group carrying weapons oiled themselves up and told us to not trust experts, most of us regardless of political affiliations would say fuck off. But shirtless man or woman oiled up saying the same thing… oh yeaaaaah they spitting or we licking!
China won if this is how they figured out they’d take over the world. I got to respect that hustle, I support the ban at the same time. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, I almost launched a rival to OF, guess I need my own TikTok. Great episode again!
What happened in Nola was crazy. I am glad they postponed the Sugar Bowl until Thursday. I am hoping security is better for the upcoming Super Bowl and Mardi Gras.
When it looks to exciting it’s probably wrong.
I’m not a negative about the internet and health information but it’s maybe also because of my background. There is great information out there and sometimes the doctor isn’t as up to date as they should be. But also there is terrible misinformation. So how to know what’s what? Probably education helps. When I read something about detox ( it’s not real)I know the creator isn’t shit.
We stayed at Home on nye and I loved it. I went to sleep at 2300 and felt as if I got away with something. I stay away from fireworks as far as I can. Here we had no problems here in my city. The problems are in bigger cities, we were once in Frankfurt years ago on 31.12 and I was very afraid and decided never to do it again.
Fireworks are only allowed here in a very short time around New Years and some people go crazy.
No one at least shoots guns here at NYE but I still don’t enjoy it.
Here, the rare moment where I have an other option. I am as against guns as someone could be. People are irrational, they drink, they forget to secure then guns. They should not have guns.
But.
Not paying to much attention after such a tragedy might be in a weird way the better choice.
The terrorist wants all the attention, and other potential terrorist see it on tv and want to recreate it. When it doesn’t even get so much attention, it’s probably not worth it for them. It’s not the way to fame like in the past. You see how people make the CEO killer a hero.
Even people who don’t think of themselves as terroists.
