I love when we get the yearly visit with your mom and dad. I always have the the pleasure of meeting them both at the library and the live shows. They are just cool folks and I always help myself to a pic of the fabulous Morrows!

Now, I wish I had their green thumb, because I spend money on house plants and herb plants, only to kill them by over watering them and feeding them Arby’s. Maybe one day, I will have my own garden, but for now, I can only settle for window plants.

I saw clips of that parade and how half-assed it was and how sloppy some of the formations were and my veteran friends were chuckling at it because we know what that was. The thing is, parades and that sort of pageantry are for specific occasions and the military takes that stuff seriously so there’s a lot of preparation and rehearsal that goes into it (USUALLY). So it’s actually pretty shocking to see them *not* doing that because that’s basically a choice (and a very disrespectful one, at that!). They can’t choose not to go but they can choose to not give a fuck about the president wanting a parade for his birthday, I guess. The energy was very “you want a parade, ok here’s a parade then, damn.”

I went to Japan a few weeks ago and one of the things our group did was take a day trip to Kyoto where we went to a samurai class and they showed us how to use the real sword. Maybe a week after we got back, someone posted the announcement about the program ending in our group chat. During the class one of the things they tell you is “control your swing and trust the sword, it’s very sharp, and do not try to touch it and see how much, because it’s a lot more than you think it is.” Had they not specifically said that I much have tried to do that dumbass shit. Hi, it’s me. I’m the problem.

Papa Rod ain’t lie, gardening is great. Intergalactic gardener here who just graduated from basil to okra and watermelon. Now I got a full salad added to my book I’m writing. Start your garden or pre-order my book (you’ll get it b4 George RR books I guarantee)

I love how more great black art will soon be existing because of this podcast and our great exchange.

Always great to hear from your father. Now I have to go check on the microtomatoes I’m growing and preparing to hybridize with purple tomatoes…

I love when you have your parents on the show. I used to get sad about Father’s Day, because my dad passed when I was only 17. Now that I’m a mom, I can instead just find joy in celebrating my husband and what a great dad he is. Hearing your dad talk about your garden and fishing made me smile, it’s exactly what my dad was into… he took so much pride in his garden! Happy Father’s Day to Mr. Morrow and all the dads, step-dads, foster dads, pet dads, plant dads and cat daddies out there.

I love it when Pops Marrow is on. Your parents are always a pleasure when they’re on, Rod.

That gender wars almost got me. I almost believed it wasn’t a skit because it had me saying, “homeless people deserve love too”

That song Wipe me down from Boozie is not that damn good for anyone to be paying attention to what he has to say. In a world of uncertainty. There are two absolute things we can count on, cockroaches will outlive us all and Boozie is always going to have something fucked up to say.

Rods parents are both so sweet, so funny and supportive, it’s really A+++++
    At least from my perspective.
