What it do Rod, Karen and Jloyd Howell,
I hope all is well.
Lloyd Howell resigned from the NFLPA after more info came out about him throwing NFLPA money at a strip club, followed by former Cleveland Browns’ center JC Tretter’s resignation as well. I’m glad both of them are out and hope the NFLPA can take back ground against the owners and while the union has a lotta ground to cover, listening to Dominique Foxworth’s show it sounds like there’s at least hopeful signs.
At this rate, NFLPA might as well as Shemar Stewart if he wants the union head job given his fight with the Bengals to pay him his rookie contract money *without* void language. Bengals owner and legendary cheapskate Mike Brown came out the crypt recently to say he doesn’t think it’s fair that he’d have to pay a player sitting in jail. Know what’s unfair? Being an NFL player and your team reusing jock straps to save money.
Can a sports stories get more *American* than this: 45 year old Venus Williams beating the #35 ranked player at the Citi Open this week…so she could get covered by health insurance that wasn’t expensive ass COBRA. Obviously shouts out to Venus for coming off the oak and frying someone, but shouldn’t the health insurance be the main focus of that story?
I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend and thanks as always for the dope shows.
Peace,
Dough
Pay Them! I don’t know why it’s even controversial that these women should get paid what they’re worth. Maybe years before it could be argued that the WNBA wasn’t profitable, and that the players *were* getting paid what they were worth. In fact, my friend’s daughter was a starter at USC and she chose to get a sales job for like A/C equipment instead because she couldn’t afford to play women’s basketball and live in Los Angeles. But today? Between attendance, TV ratings, merchandise, etc. – how is possible some of these ladies are getting paid $60,000 a year?! These women are stars! I chuckled when I saw Bam Adebayo having to take a photo for a fan with A’Jai. I would never have thought of getting women’s clothing before, but Angel has a fashion line with Reebok, and I want a hoodie that is almost sold out. How do you see this going? Does expansion actually dampen the women getting more money?
