Hoppers’s definitely one of the non-classic Pixar entries & both of you pretty much explained why that’s the case with certain plot details not being explained thoroughly (protagonist’s parents, one- dimensional bad guy, both siding-ish third act) but, maybe its the audience I was with, but Hoppers is a lot of fun, especially its humor, which, more than anything saves it from being a complete snoozer. Whatever the fuck Dave Franco was on, I want it. Nigga was more fried ham than a Country Ham sandwich at Cracker Barrel.
Definitely not a classic (I even admittedly rated it a bit too high on Letterbox by giving it a 4/5) but as far as vibes goes, it does pass that.
