I love being able to write into this show and rib the two or you a bit because I think we’ve built a great rapport over the years and there’s no animosity. Sometimes I get corrected and sometimes I write in to clarify or make a correction but it’s all in good fun and jokes even the Arby’s stuff. Although I stand firmly in my belief that they are not a money laundering scheme. They stay in business because they have the meats.
I was listening to this podcast on a 14h flight to an undisclosed location (not using all y’all as an alibi like some listeners…) let’s just say I’ll be München on the Wurst food and I can Beirly wait!
Glad to hear that TBGWT listeners are visiting my beautiful county.
Sorry I didn’t tell you ahead of time. I’m doing an AI conference, so I wouldn’t have time to meet. Maybe next time!
I know, it shoulda been Bierly… that being said, the reason I posted this was to say, I’m listening to it a second time. In regard to the current state of rap, I think that the move to a 24h cycle has done the same thing to music that it has done to news. It’s created a need for a lot of filler fluff that would have been on the cutting room floor in a more sane system.
I used to be quick to anger or shall I say frustrated, especially when it came to people seeking clarification cause the interpretation long time ago was that it was an attack on me. However, the changes began much earlier than anticipated all thanks to my second niece (I babysat her and siblings), as soon as that kid could talk she always hit me with the “can you explain what you just said or asked me to do?”
Used to drive teenage me crazy. But by the time I joined the Navy, it was easier for me to communicate better and also to clarify when someone didn’t understand what I said for whatever reason the instructions that I gave. If I hadn’t gone through that, I wouldn’t be able to talk to the Intergalactic kid when she says something about her hair, friends, school life, or whatever. I get her to clarify where it’s coming from and why she feels that way and we talk. If you go back to the 90’s and ask that version of me with his Afro, he would have said “fuck them kids!” They thought me the importance of clarification!
Shout-out to Joseph for writing back, offering clarity to his comment. OSS respects such brethren!
When people don’t see that this is a great place for exchanging opinions, the show is just not for them. We agree on lots of points but not all ( I am a rebellious rule breaker! Trying to prove it here and giving up my cover is not an option for me, I worked to hard on it ) and it’s enriching for at least me.
When i write multiple comments, I listen to the show, have a thought that must be shared with the universe and think that’s it. One comment. Than something new comes up like the antidepressants and I must share my knowledge. And sometimes I listen to the show in chunks. Let’s see if there will be another one this time!
