I’m not surprised that Sinclair and Newstar decided not to air Jimmy Kimmel’s return and maybe ten year ago that would have been a devastating blow for that show but even without airing in those markets the show came back to the highest ratings they’ve ever had. I doubt those high ratings will last because most people watched out curiosity of what Kimmel would say. But my point is despite Sinclair and Newstar owning all those local affiliates, they don’t really hold the same power they used to because of how so many people have cut the cord and no longer have cable. I don’t watch network stations anymore, and I’d guess that a big chunk of people under a certain age don’t either. With so many streaming services people have alternative viewing choices. The local channel watchers on regular cable and analog television is dying out so these tactics of not airing shows they don’t agree with won’t work as effectively as it used to. Now this isn’t to say that kimmel’s show won’t eventually go away either because late night television in general is also a dying institution.
Im happy for everyone who got rehired and got double the money.
The least for all the stress and drama.
What is Elon doing now btw? He doesn’t seem to get rehired.
Regarding the poll: This is a soapbox issue for me, so feel free to ignore it.
I used to round up, but no longer do. Most corporations pay little to no taxes, so to allow them to make “charitable donations” of the backs of the very citizens they gleefully deprive of resources every day, with the added bonus of providing them with a tax write-off that further minimizes their financial contributions to society is a practice I can no longer adhere to.
We are living in the upside-down world.
Thank goodness we have yall! Five Stars.
