3172: Sword Hatchetness

Rod and Karen banter about a road trip to see the Hornets in Greensboro, why people consume ignorant content, kids at basketball games, a lit-up truck, the farmer’s market, new car tire pressure diagram, and a kid came over to our table. Then they discuss the young republicans leak, woman points gun at No Kings protestors, man pulls gun to get by a crash in traffic, Taco Bell ex-employee comes back to shoot the manager,  McDonald’s shooting and sword ratchetness.

I am a farmer’s market girlie. I used to have basic white woman of color Sundays where I’d go to the Farmer’s Market with a hot drink in my hand and walking around to each stall as I tuck a piece of imaginary hair behind my ear, asking questions like, “is this organic” I love a farmer’s market more than Alphonso Ribero loves white women. You can get anything, clothes, jewelry, baked goods, meats, and I get dog bones for my fur baby.

I admit I like some trash tv, my addiction is love after lock up because it’s hella messy. And it’s true when I watch sometimes I think to myself that sometimes things in life are bad but I can never be as down bad as those people.
Speaking of The Biggest Loser, I used to watch that show religiously but it the time I thought it was inspiring until all the articles about what happen behind the scenes started coming out and I realize the humiliation ritual these people were put through. The documentary that came out about it recently on Netflix was eye opening. Admittedly I do still watch my 600 lb life because I like transformation shows but I do end up feeling bad for most of the people because their extreme weight gain usually comes from a place of trauma. At the end of the day I think everyone has their guilty pleasures like true crime or real housewives.

Going to the Farmer’s Market has been my new obsession for the past year. I love buying my veggies from the market as they taste better, last longer, less expensive and I’m supporting a local farmer. I get everything from veggies, fruits, cheeses, bread, dessert, pasta, meats, fresh flowers….you name it! I have started to supplement my grocery shopping for more items at the market as it has saved me money. I hope you and Karen visit the market often.

Consuming ignorant content doesn’t work for me at all.
It makes me depressed, I think, if this is how people really are, no wonder the state of the world and start feeling hopeless.
Maybe it would be better for my mood if it did make me feel better but this is how it is for me.

In their defense, the young Republicans did have a deep conversation on how to handle the situation. They even had a survey:

Ignore it and the news will stop covering it
Blame it on a George Soros / Antifa hacker/bot
Double down on the racism and shout down critics as opponents of “free speech”

So, they are taking it seriously and thinking about “professional” ways to handle the situation…
