I agree with you about people not thinking about black people in cases like what happened at the Baftas but I do still think black people stay on racists mind more than we think. I have a cousin with a white parent and she looks white when she straightens her hair. The amount of casual racist things people say to her because they think she’s one of their own is mind blowing. She stopped straightening her hair and she started tanning because she said it was affecting her mental health. I once knew a girl who said her family says the n word regularly and those are the people who will smile in your face.
I think both cases can be correct because racism is so insidious it can make people paranoid even if it’s not intentional.

Maybe it’s different in America. I am a full time white person, not really another option. Luckily , even with me being very suspicious about racism this never happens to me or almost never. Best chance is with stubborn old people who refuse to learn new words. Unless we would visit father in law who I talked about before , a right winger like he would be from the Republican Party . But here is no casual racism , he is clearly uncasual racist. , and we don’t visit him ever because of it.

I wonder if I might get in trouble here, I just wonder since the cousin looks more black racist comments stopped? Thats like contra intuitive for racists, that they try not to hurt the feelings of black people.

Needless to say, I’m shocked, appalled, disgusted, and heartbroken at the Chicken and Waffles slander. Chicken and Waffles are life! SMH. Crispy, soft, and juicy chicken tenders on slightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside waffles with a generous pouring of maple syrup and Louisiana hot sauce. How is this not heaven to you Rod?! Do you really reject Jesus’s offerings?

The first time I had heard of Chicken and Waffles was the 1999 film, Judgement Day starring Ice-T and Mario Van Peebles. There’s a scene where Ice-T tells the white lady in the film about chicken and waffles. I thought to myself, “Chicken and Waffles?’ My god!”

I’ve been in love ever since. I’m Loving v. Virginia when it comes to Chicken and Waffles.

I just had to pop in to declare my love for that commercial break song. My inner head-banger cannot wait to sing/scream to”THIS IS JUST A COMMERCIAL BREAK!!!” That said….I don’t want more commercials

    Comedy notebook p. 8,192:

When seeing a photo of a person with a swollen face.
    ✖ That’s a real swollen situation.
△ I mean, he shoulda leggo-ed that Eggo. *a bit dated
    〇 Damn, dat boy’s swole.

    Sidenote… try to make “That’s a real swollen situation” a thing…

I agree with Rod that racists don’t think about people they hurt at all. But I’m even more cynical because I think it’s better. You know who will think about you? The guy who is planning to murder you. When he comes and tries to strangle me, I will not say, how nice, at least you thought about me. No! Don’t think about me! The murder part is most my concern here.

Also of course Europeans have less understanding of black culture. Do you remember my completely unsuccessful search for a real live black friend? Now even my only black comworker changed departments because the new area was better for the commute. Or so she said. Don’t overthink Apia.
