Great guest.
My favorite judge show will always be Judge Greg Mathis because of the number times he called the people on his show crackheads. Everyone got called a crackhead. If they stole they were a crackhead. If they cheated, crackhead. If they argued with him, crackhead. I think that should be a drinking game.
I couldn’t imagine another Steve Harvey in another country because he already does the most over here. I’m not sure his personality would work anywhere else. British Steve Harvey would be too much for the Brits to handle
Bringing up the Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer unlocked a memory for me! I remember watching Chi McBride and one of the producers of the show go on Tavis Smiley’s BET show (this was 1998 y’all) to defend it and assure people that the show wasn’t racist. It clearly didn’t work since the show only aired 4 episodes before it was cancelled. Unfortunately it was hard to overcome that first impression.
I also watched Homeboys in Outer Space and that at least got one full season on UPN. I recognized Darryl Bell (Ron Johnson from A Different World) and that got me to check the show out but I don’t remember it being good at all. But those were the days when the upstart TV networks (Fox, and later WB and UPN) gave Black talent chances to get underserved audiences and capture ratings from the Big Three networks (NBC, CBS, & ABC). Of course this didn’t last but there were a lot of Black shows that got greenlit and put on the air that wouldn’t have had a chance otherwise.
Tim Barnes was a fun guest and I’m going to check out Judge Travis when it drops!
Great, now you reminded me of “ informer” by snow, and it’s in my head playing on replay.
Horse girl seems to be a black woman from Germany, also relevant to us both in that way. I also googled her yesterday. Honestly, genius.
She will not be criticized for her face because it’s covered and can just go to the supermarket when she wants and Noone will know, and this mask gives her lots of attention. When I start my rapper career, I will follow her lead and be wolf woman or so.
