I haven’t watched the WWF in a minute, but this interview was so much fun!
I never watched even one minute of wrestling but I watched the show Glow as I just remembered, so maybe I like wrestling only when there is even more level added, because, good interview.
This was such a special episode because it brought back fond memories of my childhood watching “wrasslin’” with my granddaddy while drinking Sun Drops. I grew up watching Rick Flair, Sting and the Steiner brothers. Like Karen I was also a big Hulk hogan fan until we all discovered he was a huge racist piece of shit. But we were all dumb kids once.
I also remember Sgt Slaughter, The Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man. But back then the only prominent black wrestlers before the Rock was Koko Beware who had a parrot and The Junkyard Dog who had a trashcan. They never got to win against any of the white superstars. They only got to beat the scrubs. Even as a kid I peeped game.
I don’t watch wrestling like I used to but I still keep up with some of the wrestlers online, especially the black ones. There are these three melanated queens Jade Cargill, Naomi and Bianca Bel Air that used to be a trio for a brief time and they had a wrestlmania entrance where there came out looking like superheroes. I included the link below.
Little Evie would have loved seeing these sisters in action but I’m so happy for little black girls who have them to look up to now. Please bring Cameron back. He was a great guest.

Shout-out to Cameron, he mentioned my favorite of all time Bret “Hitman” Hart (if you know how many kids I placed under the sharpshooter?) and for Karen, I first admired the Ultimate Warrior as a kid, we across the ocean in a smaller city obessed with wrestling knew nada bout him outside of wrestling lol. Btw Bret Hitman Hart’s loss of the WWE heavyweight title (WWF back then) in the Iron Man match at Wrestlmania XII 1996 led to my teenage self starting my first ever boycott in protest at the BS from Vince McMahon (history proved me right). By the time I’ll discover that wrestling was scripted, man had gone too deep in his protest to return back. Anyways, great episode. Made me recall my favorite match of Stone Cold Steve Austin fighting Bret Hitman Hart in Capetown. Looked like pure hate to us back then, I’ll go apologize to the kids I whooped over 30 years ago. Greatness!
This was so funny! I have had no interest in wrestling since the 90s, but I know that a Rod and Karen interview is always going to be a good time. Cameron was another great guest and I am only 30 mins into the episode. A cool wrestling nerd. Loving it
