This has nothing to do with the episode, but I wanted to shout out Canada. I’m posting on this on March 24 and, on this date in 1837, Canada granted its Black citizens the right to vote.

More than 30 years before Black people in America even got freedom, ain’t that a bitch?

hey y’all, I’m an episode behind on the pregame but I wanted to write in about the electric vehicles! I have owned one for a few years now, and I’ll never go back. Karen is right that having an at home charger is important. I have one and literally it costs me less than $20-30 a month to charge my car up all month. With gas prices jumping up like they are I am really glad I have it. For premium gas in a similar car I would be paying like $40 per fill up. Even if you do use a fast charger (like the ones you see around towns), depending on whether you have a subscription or not, charging could cost you like $20 to go to 80%.

Justin is right about the giddyup and the potential to get pulled over for speeding. I have to put on the setting in the car to dampen that so I just don’t go need for speed down the highway. If he doesn’t like the Teslas, Hyundai and Kia actually have really really good EVs, and buying used is the way to go. Because of how fast the technology advances, an EV can depreciate like $10k in one year so if you get one that is 2-3 years old you can get it for a steal. And we have data to show that the batteries outlast the car, so they’re really sturdy.

About the infrastructure, yeah Trump really did a big one messing up what Biden set up. Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act had things built in to expand the charging networks across the country, including rebates for EVs made in the US. But of course Trump’s punk ass got rid of those things. Still, I have taken road trips to Atlanta from DC/VA/NC and have spent maybe $60 max on gas round trip. And gas stations are starting to put EV chargers in on their own, especially if they’re big rest stops like Buc-ee’s. LOVE IT.

I can go on and on but I’m going to stop here. Love the show!

    Denise
