It was so disheartening that more people were focused on Justin Fairfax’s death instead of his wife who was an accomplished woman in her own right. The way some people were so quick to talk about what a great guy he was is telling. Roland Martin was one of them and that’s no surprise since he’s been so tone deaf on a lot of other issues particularly when it comes to black women.
On the Justin Fairfax Roland Martin piece, the segment that I watched was about black male accountability. It wasn’t to soften Fairfax because of mental health but to talk about how our failure to deal with our mental health is making us dangerous to our women and how we need to address it. It started with what I heard you read on the show, but these could have been different segments so maybe we saw different things leading to different reads on what it was that Roland was saying. In what I saw, he followed that with with 2 therapists that talked about the work that we as men need to do to better resolve our challenges instead of taking them out on our women and those close to us and the increasingly destructive behaviors. The conversation may not have been palatable, but it did seem like this one was in the vein of what should be happening to protect our women, not just a blind spot to women by trying to soften what he did by saying he had mental health struggles. It was about an hour and a half.
Man, say that again, accountability is part of showing love. Thank you for the Justin Fairfax segment!
I was going to address how you are Sharia loving too but I’ll listen to my good friend Joe Biden and I’m going to go to bed. Great episode!
I support research on psychedelics in general because what I read about it has great potential with PTSD, substance dependence or depression that is not treatable otherwise.
Lots of things probably created or worsened also by the current political situation.
So I will be monitoring this a bit. Also interesting what conservative politics can mean today. Practically everything what the right white men want it to be.
