It’s been something of a recurring discourse on this show, but the ability to admit someone was right or wrong about something and having that separate from whether you think they are overall a good or bad person is something that is getting quite difficult.
For example, I’m happy that Trump is looking into reclassifying the psychedelics. I still think he is the worst president this country has ever had and one of the worst people that has ever existed. I don’t think he’s doing it for the right reason, mainly I think he did it because he craved the praise of that podcaster schmuck, but that doesn’t mean it’s not the right thing to do…
Bringing nuance to the conversation is one of the reasons I enjoy your podcast.
There is an unexpected update on my ex boyfriend. I was today in Frankfurt for work and was walking to my car. I met him, on the street, after 20 years. He was drinking coffee with a colleague outside a coffeehouse, when I turned into his direction we looked at each other and recognized each other immediately. We talked for an hour. He never married and has no kids. We talked for an hour. His colleague asked why we separated. I said, excuse his work was nr one and I had own ideas. He said he remembered it differently. I mean, whatever he wants to believe.
It was overall a good interaction, we joked a lot and I told him I married the guy after him and am still on marriage one.
My head canon says he never got over you. I hope he didn’t steal a lock of your hair when you weren’t looking. Yes, I have a weird mind.
I can’t wait until you do another bullet ball recap episode. Those are my favorite episodes. I’ve probably heard the explanation and the clips several times already and each time it’s just as funny because i anticipate what’s going to happen which makes it so funny plus i feel like every time there’s a bullet ball episode you introduce a new angle to the story that makes it funnier. My favorite part is when all the sharks turn down his idea and basically ask him what else he has in his life and he replies in the saddest voice “but…I have bullet ball” I know we’re supposed to feel sorry at this point but I just laugh and laugh. I hope that guy is doing well.
I understand how people think DT is planning this attempts because otherwise he is just thriving on chaos, there is no plan at all. Even a plan we don’t like at all seems better than chaos, But in my opinion there is no plan. Just reactions and poses because he enjoys and needs this adrenaline.
In response to getting slapped in public:
When I was 23 I moved from rural Virginia to Queens NYC. The friends I had in VA were very fratty, physical, punchy and wrestly type guys, and with the exception of nut-shots I was a part of that behavior. I made friends with an intern that I was working with in New York and attempted to engage him in that same sort of physical play. He expressed that he didn’t like it but I didn’t listen. One day at a party, he said something I thought was silly so I gave him what I felt was a good natured jab in the arm. He slapped me in the face in front of the whole party and said “Don’t you ever touch me like that again!”
A few things to be learned here:
A) He felt like each time I did that, I was emasculating him, which wasn’t my intention at all.
B) The road to hell is paved with good intentions so that’s a poor excuse for bad behavior.
C) When people tell you how they want to be treated, listen.
Anyways, shoutout Mike the Intern. Hope you’re killing it out there!
