I don’t even bother with car rental companies anymore, you should check out Turo. It’s basically like AirBnb except instead of someone’s house, you rent their car. My parents rented a Caravan for the family vacation with my nephews, and a friend of mine rented a Corvette C8 for a fun solo trip. One time when I flew to Vegas, I rented a Camaro convertible to take on an overnight excursion to Sedona and it was a blast. It would have cost almost double to do the same with the rental companies and they would have put me in a Corolla if I was lucky. Turo is less hassle, almost always cheaper, and has more fun options.
Bomani has often said that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the finest people that this country has ever produced. While I agree with him 100 percent on that, Dolly Parton has to be in the Top 5, in my Personal Record Book™. Rest in Peace to a real one.

Rod I love the introduction of the alphabet game! I, and am sure others , were home playing the game as well! For one, I thought u would have said Dennys for D and IHOP for I but all in all I look forward to more episodes of the alphabet game, with other categories! Just one question tho? Was this just restaurants in Charlotte/ nc or just ones you guys been too? Or just restaurants in general?

I’m sorry for the length, but I have a personal PPP story/warning.
Before COVID, I did a lot of freelance graphic design work for nightclubs and restaurants. When the shutdown happened, I lost almost all of my income overnight and only had about three months of savings to fall back on.
When the PPP applications opened in April/May 2020, I applied and was approved for a loan. I used the money to pay my bills and stay afloat until I was able to find a new job that summer.
Fast-forward to January 2021. I woke up, checked my bank account, and saw that my account had been completely zeroed out. I called my bank and found out that I was being investigated for PPP fraud.
I was scared and pissed. I had been a legitimate business customer with the bank for almost a decade, so I assumed that would make it pretty clear that I actually owned and operated a business. But I had still been flagged.
Over the next few days, I sent the investigator everything I could. Past invoices, my website, business paperwork, and anything else that could prove my business was legitimate.
Eventually, I found out what had triggered the investigation My business’s trade name had expired the month before PPP applications became available. That single detail was enough to get me flagged.
Thankfully, everything was resolved, and I’ll never forget what the investigator told me when they closed the case. They said it was a relief because mine was the first PPP fraud investigation they’d handled that actually turned out not to be fraud.
So if I got flagged for error, I don’t know how scammers think they can get away with stealing money from the government.
